RPGs is like a pizza with everything on it- some people take off the toppings they hate, and others like everything. Some people might like mushrooms on top, while others cannot stand them. This game is exactly like that.
For people who never heard of the .Hack//Legend of the Twilight, then they might not really enjoy the game. For otaku and other anime lovers, they might love every second of this game-from enemies, to bosses, to the level design and etc. There is a lot that fans of the series and anime will enjoy, and same with people who enjoy RPGs.
It's a free-roaming RPG with a great storyline to go along with the already epic tone. The WORLD is an online RPG in the future with millions of players around the world. It's like WOW 50 years in the future. The game was created with the intention of having fun and adventure, but there are always hackers who want to cheat to be the best or to harm other players. Kite, the main character from the last game, returns to solve the mysterious legend of the braclet he was givin in the first game- a powerful and forbidden item that drains the data from any enemy and player- and to find out what really is going behind the scenes in the game. Even if you don;t enjoy the storyline, you can still make your own adventure in the game, make friends to join your team, explore deadly areas teeming with powerful enemies... no level is quite the same, which makes for endless exploring and leveling up!
The graphics are good for a game this old, and the effects going on on the screen in hacked zones look like you really are looking at a computer screen with you as the main character. The music is some off the best in the RPG universe, but what do you expect from .HACK? It's a great game for fans of the anime, and for gamers who enjoy the futurestic RPGs and the kind of content in these kind of games.
Overall, it's super addicting with endless possibilities and player- perfect custimizations. It's deffiently a must buy for anyone!

.Hack//Mutation is the same game as its predecessor, with a new name, and cut scenes, although it can be enjoyable.
