Aliens: Colonial Marines makes it way to the Stage Show at E3 2012 to show off some new gameplay.
The science nerd in side of me screamed when he talked about neutralizing the acidic blood because even though if you do neutralize the substance with bleach, the neutralization process is highly exothermic and can cause burns.
Also people shut up about DNF, they brought on a different team from 3D realms to finish that game. They only thing you can blame them more is not eye balling that team close enough.
1 Like Seriously, you guys DO realize that Gearbox shipped in a matter of months, what took 3DRealms a failed 10years of development on Duke Nuken Forever? Riiight? Gearbox didn't develop DNF. They took what 3DRealsm dumped on them, made it playable and shipped it, nothing more. Give Gearbox a break already. Brothers in Arms and Borderlands are great games/series.
5 Like @Tasnuv All things considered Duke Nukem Forever was actually not bad IMO. Gearbox made the effort to just get the game out there. All their other games are great.

I hope there will be a coop multiplayer mode just like in the first AVP. Me and my mates used to spend hours killing endless hordes of aliens, without any pauses between the waves! Cause we were Colonial Marines! (or a Predator =] ).
1 Like from what I last read, the game is supposed to be 4 player co op through the entire full game campaign.
@GeraldCompton That I do now, what I ment was the multiplayer mode in first AvP called 'Cooperative', where you fought as either a Marine or a Predator with endless waves of aliens. Four mates vs infinite xenomorphs was an adrenaline rush of my youth =]

This game has been in development Hell for a long time. Hopefully it doesn't come out feeling dated.
i hope they bring survivor back from avp2 :D the lifecycle mechanic would also be awesome. i think im getting my hopes up for nothing tho xD

@lorddaggeroff Yes it is. The film explains a little bit on where the Aliens came from or how they came to be. The films creates more questions then it gives answers, but its still a good film.
Didn't the atmosphere generator/teraformer blow up at the end of Aliens? So how is there still a colony or how are the marines able to breath normally at all?
At 7:40 he said that the marines can use infrared eye pieces to spot the xenomorphs. I do recall in Aliens that the infrared could not pick them up because they don't give off heat...
I am looking forward to this game, but I'm preparing for disappointment after AvP. Loving the ideas but I think that the human blood needs some work even if it just sticks to the environment. Everything else is looking very slick!
1 Like The recent AvP was made by an entirely different studios, so don't prepare for disappointment, because there is an entirely new team working on it.

I don't know... It just look like any other FPS, just in the alien world... Well, I hope it'll be good because we need a good Alien game at last.
I'll buy this, but I can see it failing already. The "attention" to an MP experience has shaken my confidence in the quality of the SP game.

@kyle756 because the movie hadn't come out when this video was made and a LOT of people assumed it was the same planet and ship from seeing the trailer
Or maybe because anybody who's seen Prometheus knows that it makes no sense and explains nothing anyway, so they have to pretend that it adds something to the Alien mythos.

1 Like Damn, I saw the first 10 seconds of gameplay and thought 'hey! they actually fixed that horrible AI and slow xenos!' But then I realized it was multiplayer, lol.
Looks absolutely awful. The game play looks like a very dated FPS with nothing to set it apart from the crowd.
4 Like I know this probably won't go down well, but I want this game despite knowing it won't be the best game of 2013... Who cares whether it has the best multiplayer experience or not - people want this game because of what it is; A chance to play in the universe of Aliens! It will be great for any fan of these films, and if you're not one of them, then this game probably isn't for you, so don't get it! Simple. Rant over.
To sum up: I can't wait for this game!
@ResiFreak Ditto. This game actually looks to have the substance we've all been craving in an Alien game. The graphics engine may be a little weak, but the experience sure looks to be a winner. Like you said, it's all about that Alien universe setting. Being allowed to play in the Aliens atmosphere with proper sounds should deliver that fear us Aliens fans have been craving.
They should have a game mode like search and destroy but when a alien dies another alien can put one of those claw spider things, i forgot its name, on a dead marines face and it will burst through the marines chest and spawn another alien and the only way to counter-act this is to shoot the dead marines head off to prevent that
You would think they would have better weapons and protection for Marines in 2179 onwards...
I wouldn't be using a shotgun designed in the 1950s to go up against the Xenos.

@GreySeven No, they basically just published a finished game. Don't think of them for DNF, think of them for Brothers in Arms Series, that series they actually created.
