How to breed hybrid flowers?

Plant two flowers of the same type and of different color next to each other (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally will work). Keep the flowers alive and watered whenever they turn dry. Each day there will be a chance of a new flower growing in one of the squares around those flowers, which will either be the color of one of the parents or a hybrid color.
