It's really a great game, 7 years on and I still play it daily. Mostly thanks to the modding community out there. If you want to vastly improve your gaming experience with freelancer, I recommend you try ou the "Crossfire Mod". It adds dozens of new systems, lot's of ships, missions, player controlled factions that fight over possesion of systems and a dynamic economy when playing multiplayer. And it updates the visual graphics of the game immensely, it's one of the greater freelancer mods out there if not the best, and the support is great. Freelancer ftw!
