Sounds perfectly normal to me. Too bad the game isn't set in Walmart.

well between Altair Ezio and Connor Connor actually looks the most normal, Ezio and Altair just looked way out of line (especially Ezio after Brotherhood), Connor wears a coat that almost looks like a coat one of the soldiers would wear so everyone would probably assume he is a native soldier working with the Americans (what with the bow and all).

It's called "Suspension of disbelief."
Personally, I'd gladly take the Assassin's outfit over something more realistic as I've always been impressed with the designs the concept artists come up with for this series.

Altair looked like the Scholars.

An assassin who wears a soldier's coat armed with weapons is more believable than an assassin that looks like a scholar armed with weapons

You didnt play AC1, Altair had very little weaponry through most of the game, sometimes just his hidden blade, and by scholars, he means that the original point of his outfit was to look like a monk or a priest so he could sneak into cities, he'd even hold his hands together and bow his head in prayer when blending into a group of monks.

That being said, in AC1 Altair looked like a monk, in AC2 Ezio looked like a rich person from that era, the outfit and cape fit the period in a flamboyant way...in Brotherhood Ezio kinda stood out and I kept thinking that Rome seemed way too humid for that cloak...and in revelations you just look ridiculous, he looks like ****ing batman walking around.

His clothing is fine. Connor is dressed like a solider of that time, only he wears a hood insted of a hat.
