Will you play with the HUD on or off?

I have a feeling most people will choose HUD on, fair enough. Im thinking of playing with the most of the HUD on but keeping the minimap off. I found that I spoiled the other games by using the minimap way too much, also you beat the game very quickly if you use the minimap and I find I personally dont pay as much attention to the actual game.
I guess it depends on how much the devs make us rely on the map to complete missions. I also enjoy just forgeting about tasks in general and just explore the map and do things as they pop up.

The initial experience is the most important. I would have it off unless I was in a rush to beat the game or something.

Can you turn the minimap off in previous games? I've gotten so used to having it on I've never even considered anything else...
Perhaps for ACIII I'll turn it off. I want this game to last as long as possible.

Yes you can. Options-->HUD. Proceed to turn off whatever you want.

Since there will be new options and a brand new HUD, I'll probably let it on, then when I get used to it, I'll turn it off.

I remember back on the Brotherhood boards, someone posted a topic in which you had to go to a certain place (I forgot where), turn the HUD off, and make your way to the Panthenon and time yourself how long it took. It was interesting to say the least.

Oh that seems like a neat challenge. Do you remember if roofs could be used? I knew Rome pretty well, so I could
probably do it on the ground, but roofs would definitely make it easier.

The guy himself said he didn't use roofs, but I suppose you could, but then it'd be easy.
Also, you choose a location and destination yourself. I went from the Vatican to the Panthenon, but you could do whatever you want.

Yeah I kinda miss the feeling of being lost in a game, I might turn it off first try. You can still use the map if you really have to. I think I know AC1 off by heart now, I can usuall beat it 100% (not flags) without ever turning the HUD on, its such a beautiful game.
