Besides religion was major in forming the declaration of independence: separation of church and state.
@GabrielAlmeida7 it's not... it's something part of life... following that logic, they shouldn't talk about politics either, it seems disrespectful
Dear gamespot, Enough with the shallow game Assassin Creed is. You press a button for god's sake all the time and you get to see all the scripted combat. hidden blade and if that fails you just spam the attack button. AC:1was crap (scored 9 wtf???) , AC:2 was great was great but after that every other game is the SAME each year. Stop overhyping the series. You are hurting the industry with all these mindless reviews and scores.
@ioannisdenton i agree with you about the 2 games after the assassin's creed 2, but when a new ac with a new number on it,he needs all the attention in the world!!!!
@ioannisdenton i'm a fan of AC and i love it, first time real guns! weather and evrything.. hunting... how do you think THIS is the same??? we are in a complete difrent region and time of history!
Amazing how you completely miss the exploration part of the game. Or sneaking up to ambush. If you want a hack and slash game with indepth combomoves or whatever your looking for...then yes....maybe assassins creed series is not for you
Dear ioannisdenton, Please stop watching videos for games you obviously hate.
The AC Franchise still has fans - even if you aren't one of them.
Just vote with your cash - that's the only vote the game industry listens to anyway.
Finally a new Assassin's Creed, they haven't made a new one since last year (sarcasm). am I the only one tired of annual DLC heavy sequels with minimum additions?
@Halloll The game was created with the intention of being a trilogy. Part 1 was far too repetitive to do anything with. Part 2 was a major upgrade, adding character depth, a large assortment of weapons and kill combos, using the atmosphere around you to your advantage and the economy addition, though simplistic, was a welcome upgrade. Brotherhood and Revelations were always intended to be DLC. No major improvements to the game, just completion of the story while adding some perks for those already familiar with the series. They also added the popular multi-player feature. However, they announced that each DLC was really too large to be DLC material but not enough to be a stand-alone, so they became expansions. If you'll notice the original price tags on Brotherhood and Revelations, that may convince you. AC3 has a completely new game engine, with 10x the capability of the AC2 engine. The story is coming to an end and they're trying to break free of the mold of Ezio to add even more depth to what it means to be an Assassin. This will probably be a minimum 3-parts. Enjoy the ride, it's the journey, not the destination that is important.
Of course the focuse is on the british being the enemy, that is why we declared independence, and founde our amazing country the US of A.
Yeah, but had we have put more importance on the war in America (the only reason you won was because we were engaged in 3 wars across the planet, our best troops were elseware) then you'd still be talking English.....oh you do, sort of lol. As a Brit i do not think i will be buying this game, i love AC, but i will not be buying a game where my ancestors are the enemy......especially when the protaganist is supposed to be English too! Think thats called treachery! Besides, i've only just finished Brotherhood and have revelations to buy and play yet!
@mikees1 I would like to say to you sir that even though I admire your attitude and nationalism to your country this i believe is just a game am form the middle east and lots of middle eastern are bad guys in lots of games including the AC franchise but that doesn't make me not play these games. That's because I know for sure that am not a bad guy nether was my father nether was my grandfather and in a game where the developers said over and over that the British are not even the bad guys am sorry but i think you are over reacting especially with the treachery part so while i understand your point I have to disagree with you dear sir best of luck though :)
@mikees1Dude.....I'm a Brit and I'm dying for this game. I don't care that you have to kill some British people. The British aren't the enemies, the Templars are, which is why he kills people on both sides and the protaganist is HALF English and HALF Native American not just English. Also, if and when Americans play this game they will also be killing their ancestors because the British colonized parts of America (for example, the British aquired the Spanish colony of Florida in 1763). And by the way. Really?? You haven't even bought Revelations yet? It's been out for nearly 8 months.

@mikees1 Sorry, but as a history buff I feel compelled to tell you that Britain did not lose the war because your "Best Troops were elsewhere." It is the simple fact that we American's are sore losers, we survived by changing the rules. The British Armies out numbered our militia's by 4:1 with experienced well armed, well equipped soldiers. Their Navies out numbered us my much more than that. We fought one battle against you honorably... we lost. So we cheated, we adapted as we always do. Look at the World Wars, we are the only country to use a nuke on a city, we did it twice ( Apologies Japan, that decision was made before my birth). We do not like to lose, we will do anything necessary to win, Nothing is stronger than American Ruthlessness, ask the Natives (Apologies, again before my birth, also my G. Grandfather was pure Native).
Also every American will be killing his own ancestors too, I'm British too, just far removed. History is History, this is a fictitious story about Templars trying to control the world with artifacts from The Garden of Eden (a Sacrilegious one) that Adam and Eve escaped from and hidden. Even if the Templars in this are British, its a fiction story, I live in a country, and fought for it, that almost the entire world hates and see's us as the "Real Templars" Yours plight seems a little ridiculous, no offense.
While your nationalism is admirable, I feel that it isn't well placed. This is a game, you aren't killing real British citizens. And you're forgetting that Connor is only 1/2 British, he's also 1/2 Native American.
Also, you talk of Americans as if they have different ancestors...Many are of English descent as well. In the video we all just watched, Connor clearly states that he does not care for the Patriot's battle - he only cares for the Templars.
As alex33x already said, the British is not the enemy, the Templars are. The devs have stated repeatedly that Templars are found on both sides of the conflict. I'm just assuming that the Templar leaders are found among the British.
@alex33x you can see why mikees1 argued back in the first place, your nationalism (while admirable as well) was quite elitist. But, I think you more than made up for this with your 2nd comment.
We won, and we went on to create the most powerful country in the world. Even Star Wars makes a point by giving the bad guys a british accent, I'm sorry to say but if your mentality is I won't play because they make the brits the bad guy, and you don't like an american as the hero, then be ready to not play about 90% of the games out there. The US is the current leader in the gaming industry, and pretty much the entertainment industry as a whole, or where do you think those movies, you watch and love come from? By the way Connor was born to a British Father, but a native American Woman, but he was born where? That's right in the US, if you look at it that way, that is how we all Americans were born, our ancestors were British, but their belief, in freedom and equality is what lead them to create our country so we are all traitors, but look at everything we have accomplished.Ubisoft, already mentioned you will be neutral killing enemies on both sides. But you still get to meet the forefathers, like Benjamin Frankling and George Washington.
My heart beat really hard while i look this video. I can't imagine how big this game will be when its gonna be in my hand on October 30!!! I just hope we, north america, will have a good collector's edition and not just the steel case when you pre-order it!
@Smilemax keep dreaming US never gets good CEs you would already have it preordered by now and it would of already been announced...
I'm fine with the whole British enemy thing ( if anything its quite cool, me being British) but one man cannot take on an army of British red coats with no hits what so ever, i'm fine with the assassins being trained well and haveing a great ability to hide and use the terrain to there advantage but even any random shots from anyone of them would have hit him.
@Zylec90 don't forget that those old guns took hours to refile, and when Conor(i said is name right?),start to fight from close range, the British soldiers were afraid to shoot their friends.conor used is skils as a assassin to change the outcome of the battle.
Yh you are very correct. No man, no matter how well trained would be able to defeat a whole line of infantry like he does......Lets not forget that these were mean SOB's who made up the ranks of the British Army back then, does not happen now but back then we Brits recruited anyone regardless of character. That meant Prisoners, murderers the works.
He didn't use bombs in the game. Does that mean they understood that carrying around an armory isn't that awesome?
So stupid... I am sorry I can follow the idea of assassins involved in melee vs melee or even a single blunderbuss or flintlock, but one man/assassin would not be able to even get close to the back ranks of a military line such as that unless he flanked. Utterly ridiculous...
@ozalme Well if you HAD watched the video more closely, the assassin used the cover of the horse, soldiers and rocks etc etc etc to protect him from those types of guns.. Now common sense would make you think "hmm they have a long time to reload so I have the upper advantage", and they're certainly not going to fire upon him when he's close to their OWN soldiers even if those redcoats could.
The assassin had the right equipment and right environment at his disposal.
@ozalme Yeah running into the front lines of a firing squad is kind of over the top even for AC lol I was kind of pissed when i saw the sailing gameplay. Full sails in every direction lmao I wish I had "wind following the stern" technology lol
@QOSMSTR im not think so.He used well the horse and the rock, and Consider the fact that it takes a very long time to load those old Rifle, and once he came close enough, and entered the British soldiers, it became easier (consider the skills of the assassins).
What killed this game for me was the "North America History" theme.... I was hoping for something bigger and important like the French Revolution for example.....
@TCMOREIRA i dunno much about the French Revolution and how is it different from Italy's but i welcome the change that its outside Europe because brotherhood and AC 2 was in Italy and as for London seems like a great play ground for the assassins and the Templars but still as i said i welcome the change its a new place a fresh start as for space and how big it is i have read that it is the largest AC yet with the forest and all so i wont worry about it that much :D
Too true, i wont be buying this game either as i do not like the idea of my countrymen being an enemy! I think everybody was hoping for a Victorian London theme, that would have made the best AC game, tall buildings, sewers, bridges, the Thames and the fact that only in the last 30 years has London lost its title of the worlds largest city, back then there was nothing to compare. Certainly not 18th century Boston or where ever it is......the cities of America during this era were no bigger than villages!
@mikees1 Fitst,the enemy isn't the british,but the templars.
Second, what story line can you put at the UK?answer to me and i will think about what you said.
still with the clumbsy physics, sometimes it looks like your hiting the air when fighting.
@seba_atlhaha i can't tell you that i saw clumbsy physics my friend! I was so excited with the gameplay and graphics that everything looked like beast to me, but still nice look! Where did you see something like that because i didn't? All i see was Connor killing unstoppably! I got to tell you this AC will be the best ever, but i hope stealth and hidden blade are in the game because you can't have an AC game without stealth and hidden blade, can you?
@UbisoftSpot look at 9:00 the kick looks like the "force" push it away more than the actual kick, then at 9:03 the turn to face another enemy, looks like a skate turn and he moves a step down from the actual ground, like he warped a feet under
