to add on to OP's method, you can actually take your 'nade out and hold it casually instead of running around with your arm in a throwing position.
• take out your knife
• press LB and then RB in a fast motion. not at the same time, but LB and then RB
• you are now holding your grenade

But couldnt you just aim before, you know, throwing the grenade? I mean it doesnt trace the grenade arc using this method...does it?

I am that guy an awful lot - typically because a teammate runs in front of me as I go to throw, and it hits him square in the helmet.

I wonder why they didn't just make holding LB do it. Also, I knew you could hold the grenade without priming it, but had no idea how to do so.
