I've seen several servers where people say no shotguns. Why? I realize you can do whatever you want with a server but why shotguns? What do they have against them? I've never seen a server banning assault rifles or SMG's or even sniper rifles. Just something odd.

Just might be their way of not dealing w/Shotgun Frag rounds. Or they are tired of getting wrecked by competent Shotgun users. Heck I remember the good old days playing Shotgun/Pistol only games on my Counter Strike Clan server [HATE] GOOD TIMES - GOOD TIMES.

Probably because of prepatch USAS frags and current M26 glitch. Personally neither one bothered me at all.

Shotguns? Truth be told, I don't really see CoD players having a problem with the shotguns. To the contrary, I see them supporting them as Shotguns represented very aggressive, close-quarters gameplay.
Maybe I'm just not seeing it.

Probably remnants of the old USAS-12 fiasco. I don't think I've ever used a shotgun in BF3 actually. But what does bug me is how many servers ban the M320.

well in my experience, im hit more by m320 more than anything on maps like metro -_-

Servers that ban the USAS tick me off because it shows the admin really doesn't keep up with the game, they just rent the server and go hehe now i can kick anyone i want.

^^^^ What they said. If they kept up with recent fixes they would know that this issue has been fixed.
