Time to get ready for more destruction; this time in Vietnam.
BFBC2 is my fav shooter atm, im intrested to see exactly what this will add, i hope they add abit of everything rather than just new maps and vehicles i want new unlocks :)
I think this would be better as a stand-alone-game similar to BF1943 the small 're-make' of BF1942. This could be BFVietnam2. I don't see the point of relating it to BFBC2 since surely they havn't put the B-Company squad in a vietnam shooter since they would only be kids or unborn so it would be a bad fit for them to just be 'ported' across into an earlier war. Why not just release this as a 're-make' type game such as BF1943?
Had Battlefield Vietnam on the PC and it was okay. Now an expansion to BFBC2...this is gonna ROCK!! I hope you can listen to CCR in the back ground tho.
heck yeah!! Black ops and this (better part) BAD COMPANY 2!!! Looks like I have some vietnam to do!
if this comes out in october ill be really pissed off. i really want to play this but get it out a couple months before everyone buys cod black ops.
its about time they make a GOOD Vietnam war game! i agree with evan321456 i am not buying black ops!
@meinfart BUT HE STARTED IT! LOL it started out as him complaining about this trailer/game... the only reason the Cold War was brought up was because he said COD Black Ops would kick ass... i said it was retarded cuz its unrealistic... he got angry... and it went from there. You're probably right though. :P
You're both losers for arguing about the amount of military conflict in the cold war on the comments for a video game expansion pack preview.
this isnt deadeye now, im just to lazy to use my own account. First off ur an idiot, Second and more important Black ops is a very general term, another thing is that the guns are purchased by the government and given to the troops, but for example the navy seals would go on their own to purchase weapons from weapons dealers, they had a very huge arsenal of weapons. Unfortunately the guns that were previous talked about were never in it. No black ops unit would hav had those weapons during that time period. Third The conflicts during the cold war were very limited, this is because any conflicts could have easily caused a large conflict between russia and usa. Last of all, if u knew anything about bullet wounds u would know that if u are shot by most assault rifles the wound would not bleed very quickly so it would not be a large blood spot like u are talking about also a shotgun would not make a large hole in a person unless it was a slug shell and even then it is not that large even if it is a 12 gauge.
@Deadeye233 The cold war had more than just the conflicts you learned about in school. There were many brutal battles in the cold war that are not talked about. Black ops focuses on the operations that are not taught to us in school that have been denied by historians until recently because of the freedom of information act.
@aaronfhff123 umm actually the Cold War had very few real military conflicts... The Korean War, Vietnam War, Cuba's Bay of Pigs Invasion, and Russia's f-up of Afghanistan were really the only things that happened... so besides those little proxy wars and a couple revolutions in craptacular 3rd world countries they're really gonna have to work hard to make it seem believable. And congratulations for finding out there is gore in Black Ops!! Now you can go on and post about how happy you are about that instead complaining about a good game.
I wasn't condemning the game because it doesn't have intestines spilling all over the place. I was saying it doesn't make much sense how the gun put holes in buildings but don't put holes in people(holes the size the bullet of the gun your shooting would leave). If the buildings can blow up from explosives why don't the people? it makes no sense to me. Just to let you know, there is gore in the new Call of Duty game. I saw a gameplay video of a carbine putting a red mark in somebodies face and I have seen screenshots of blown off legs and arms, so I don't need to complain about CODBO. Call of duty Black Ops will take place during secret operations during the cold war. The cold war had many conflicts all over conflicts all over the world from 1949 to 1991. So the guns you say can't be in the game can be in the game. the aug was created in the early 1970's but wasn't mass produced until 1977. The spas did come out in 1979 but how do you know what time zone the level you saw took place in that CODBO video?
@aaronfhff123 there is a difference between playing a game that is good AND has gore and calling a game lame and condemning it as an awful game just because intestines aren't spewing all over the place. When you're complaining about how you want blood everywhere it does sound a bit unusual. Besides, Black Ops doesn't look like it will have any gore effects either so go complain about that. And for your information, the AUG wasn't created until 1977 and hasn't ever been used by the US, and the M4 wasn't put into service until 1997. Also in the Black Ops trailer they are using a Spas-12, not created until 1979 and is only used by the US for SWAT teams. So in other words, if your going to tell me I'm wrong about something, have some proof to back it up, not just "the guns you named did exist at the time" etc.
@Deadeye233 The guns you named did exist at the time they just were not on the market yet. Black Operatives have access to certain guns before they even hit the market. It is not sadistic to show a wound on the body of a person you shot in a video game and explosives DO take off limbs. FPS have been violent ever since doom. It is not sadistic or in any way unussual. If you can put holes in the environments and blow them up, the same should happen for the people in games.
@ aaronfhff123 alright 1. It's a bit sadistic when you're saying "I want blood and guts everywhere!!!" 2. Battlefield has never chosen to embrace gore like Gears of War has, its just how they choose to make their games. And 3. COD W@W's gore only worked on the campaign, on multiplayer I would get nailed by an artillery strike my guy would just fall down like any other game except my arm would fly off. And then there was that fun glitch where 3 arms would fly off in different directions when I would get one blown off. & furthermore, COD Black Ops is a bs attempt at trying to add something new to the Crap of Duty Series. They finally notices it's getting a bit repetitive and decide to throw in some made-up Cold War battles with guns that didn't even exist back then (Steyr AUG, M4-A1 Carbine) Bad Comp 2 already blows away Black Ops and so will Medal Of Honor.
Can't wait for this!! Had tonnes of fun playing BF: Vietnam on PC. Loved the heli's in it, esp. the Mi-8 and blasting away the rotors of the Huey and watching it fall like a bird without wings :) Hope the soundtrack is similar / upgraded and the option to play the radio while in the vehicles would be nice!
it makes no sense that the buildings in this game are destructible but the enemies are not. I hope they add bullet wounds and gore to this game. I dont wanna see a red dust come out of an invisible wound when blasting an enemy close range with a shotgun. I wanna see a hole in that person or at least a red mark and some dismemberment(CODW@W pulled it off well). In CODW@W heavy machine guns blew heads in and tore off limbs as well as explosives. I expect the same from every Modern shooter from this day on...if not than im not buying it...at least we have COD black Ops.
Sweet, going back to BF:Vietnam with BF:BC2 engine. This should be awesome, I still have lots of fond memories playing BF:Vietnam with my friends.
Will wait for this one until BC2 is lag free. EA servers still to much loaded to give fluid gaming experience...
Vietnam was NEVER a good fit for battlefield. Airborne troops vs outnumbered guerillas? That's not even close to being balanced. BF:V was so bad that even DICE pretended it had never happened when they called the next game Battlefield 2. And for an expansion pack, only 4 maps is just pathetic.
Also, at least this will be a real war. I'm tired of CoD MW2, BC1, BC2 and BF2's made up wars
Battlefield Vietnam was the first game I bought for my 13 years old brithday..6 years had passed and those great memories were still intact. I am really looking forward to this!
Nice! But if its set in Vietnam it obviously won't be the same group with Sweetwater and the other guys. It'll be interesting to see what kind of funny bunch they can come up with for the expansion. I'm sure they'll be good.
Next up! BF2145! On frostbite! I would love to drive walkers around and into buildings! Just think of how kick but it would be to have their killer jump jets being able to rip down walls, and have thoes UGRs to bust open boxes/metal and steel? Also BF1945! both should be stand alone games with the new Frostbite Engine and feature the gameplay from the first games, with the added level of full world destruction on top! IE take on the Germans in WW2, fight as Russians on the EAstern front, battle it out as the British in El Almain in Afrika, then take the fight to the high seas with the Japanese on Tarowa and Sipan! Then in BF2145 battle it out as the EU, or PAC for total controll over the planet! Fight through futureistic versions of real world locations like New York, DC, Moscow, Panamaw Cannal, Wake Island, and even Berlin, and the Volga river. Drive gaint Combat Mechs, and deploy sentry bots, also take down gian airships with more destruction then ever!
wish it was a stand alone game. its been years since a good vietnam game for playstation. we havent had a good one on the ps3 yet.
CAN'T WAIT!!! I loved Battlefield Vietnam! I'm so excited! I hope it'll support music play in helicopters like before. All in all, I'm very happy about this and can't wait.
@Holy-HF Once your title is successful, it's not that hard to convince executives to allocate huge resources and man-power to grind working hours to deliver content for that millions of customers, since it'll be a zero-risk business venture.
BC2 hasn't been out for even a year and there's an "expansion" in the works already? something's not right
fortunate son one of my favorite creedence songs, battlefield one of my favorite games, so far so ggod
