I started my mech yesterday, it's a fun class. The robot seems really powerful early on (pretty much clears the battlefield with a bit of help). I didn't take Anarchy just because I'm a habitual reloader.

Game Designer Jonathan Hemingway walks you through the features of the Mechromancer DLC for Borderlands 2.
I haven't checked today but Tuesday and Wednesday I've checked the PlayStation store and I can't find it to download.
awww in the video he said if you pre-ordered the game you get the necromancer for free. I pre-ordered mine on gamestop but I never got anything that told me that I was going to get the necromancer later on. I guess I will just have to buy the class then such a shame :/
I have a season pass for the first 6 months, so I guess this is FREE for me. I'll have to download it when it comes out.
@blackace Season pass includes all future four campaign DLC, you still need to buy the new class.
@The-Neon-Seal disagree, once Axton's trees are maxed, his turrents cause mass amounts of destruction. also, Axton is effing hilarious!
At first, I wanted to say nothing special but them after reading a few comments I would say that I am wrong - interesting charecter. But still do not know wheather I will get DLC, though I am a huge fan of Borderlands!
No One Cares if you little girls are not going to buy the DLC. Just Play the game!. You getting mad and complaining about DLC isn't going to make it free nor cheaper. Enjoy the game and if you don't like the DLC Idea then go play another game. Simple as that!. Can i get a corn dog -.-
She's ok, I guess. Was hoping her mech would be a bit stronger. Thing was wacking away at level 5 Bullymongs for probably 30 seconds or so, when I'm level 8 lol.
The commando's mech is more useful.
@jesuschristmonk her mech is used as a tank so you can pick them off. while Axtons gun is like a stationary secondary character.
Played with a guy yesterday that got 300x anarchy stack at level 11, he was killing everything in one shot and dealing more critical hit damage than Zero ever could(at that level). Downside, he had to be right in front of whatever he killed. Interestingly every time she kills with that much anarchy, she yells different phrases, most notable being, ''BAHAHA I'll never hit anything EVER AGAIN!''
ill just wait for a goty/ultimate edition with the game and all dlc in one box or download
would have liked to have seen more strategy with this character. so far playing as her you just whip out death trap and let him do all the work (bit like the gun turret) - would have been nice to introduce a character where you have to set zones and add support for characters. still cant complain got her free. would be nice to see a few new missions and maybe a echo device introduction like the others. wonder if there's any echo logs on her in the game?
I pre ordered the game so its ok but honestly the last borderlands I only used Lillith in all my playthroughs and Borderlands 2 its pretty much Maya all the way again
got her, since I preordered the game... she's OK character, but I was kinda disappointed she didn't appear in the opening...for the story purposes only the original four character exist... I really wanted to see her in the train or for her to get some kind of an alternative beginning... Deathtrap stays on too short... :(
She have some awesome skills tho...but her best skills are spread across all three skill trees, which kinda suck
@Shinteikun You must be playing some other game. Because death trap Stays out longer then Most other support skills from the other classes. ALSO there is a skill tree that increases the amount of time death trap is out BY ALOT. You sir need to read the skills before using the characters :)
@Shinteikun All classes are like that, otherwise they would be OP. She has more skills than any other class in the original game. Deathtrap stays too short? Are you serious? The thing stays summoned for like 2-3 minutes, wtf are you expecting?
Also if you were a smart borderlands player you would know that either the the slayer of TM classmod or perhaps the legendary mechro? classmod if it exists will put 4-5 skill points in each passive across all tress, so you can make a super badass character during the end game.
Also note that the level cap will increase in the future so you will have more skill points to spend once more content starts rolling out.
Why to watch walkthroughs if you want to play this game and feel it for real, everytime discovering everything on your own. Watching walkthrough playing it is not so exciting anymore.
Too bad the comment section to this vid is plagued by self righteous DLC warning trolls. Haven't had much time with the Mechro yet, but she is easily the most varied character.
People whining about DLC have become the video game business version of people who sue fast food restaurants for giving them hot coffee. Any DLC that is "Extra content" and not needed to complete the game is completely valid. No, this character was not "on-disc" like some have said, the download would have been no more than 100kb if that was the case, was actually close to 260MB. Apologies for feeding the trolls. They really should be put somewhere. Youtube?
@Zero_Echo And people like you are why games are so stripped down, recycled, and boring that there's only ever three or four real games released a year. You have no standards. You're the guy that makes 250lb girls think they're sexy because you'll beg for whatever you can get, regardless of how mediocre it is.
@rann89 I'm the reason game companies have become hollywood? Awesome. Where is my trophy? BL2 has taken 60+ hours of my free time so far, so I don't understand what is "boring, stripped down, or recycled." And it makes me think, since you brought up girls, 250 lb ones to be exact, that Freud would say you subconciously can't get them off your mind. I know the comment section on a Gamespot video is not the place to call for civility, but bringing up someone's "taste in women" because they disagree with you makes you come off as an ass-hat. Enjoy community college brah.
@Zero_Echo @rann89 I know exactly would Freud would say. And Freud is probably the worst psychologist you could ever bring up. Enjoy repeating psych 101 in YOUR community college. I'm already far past that. Also, enjoy repeating English 101 a few times as well. There isn't a single reference to Borderlands 2. Anyone who's passed 6th grade knows the conversation is geared towards accepting DLC in general. But considering that's simple entry-level classes you've already failed so far, I suppose I shouldn't expect you to understand that. I hope you enjoy summer school.
@rann89 @Zero_Echo If you are talking about BL2 being recycled and boring and stripped down then you probably never liked Borderlands to being with. BL2 is an improvement in almost every respect to BL1 and the mechromancer class is fun as hell. I'm playing coop with another mechro and we're both using different trees and they play completely differently.
I've spent almost 300 hours including time with mechro in BL2. For $40, $0.13/hour of gameplay that's pretty freakin good imo.
@saucex4 @Zero_Echo I didn't reference Borderlands 2 specifically. I said DLC. I just said that there are only three or four real games ever released a year. Obviously the Borderlands IP is one of the successful ones. I'm talking the myriad of failures that the majority of people never even hear of because quality standards are so low for developers.
I'm just not going to buy DLC.
I totally am not going to support this business model of taking a product apart and selling the individual parts to the same people for literally twice the total price of the whole.
If there's a GOTY on sale where it works out that each DLC is about £2 then fine, but this kind of greedy drip-feeding tactic needs to die.
I imagine if they charged £15 to play the demo people would get pretty mad, but then I guess in the end they would just bend over and take it, because who cares what happens to the world so long as *I* get what *I* want when *I* want it.
@naryanrobinson I got the dlc for free and only payed 40 dollars because it was pre-ordered and I got a discount. Plus I got 'creature slaughter dome' as extra, plus some golden keys for the chest.
Does that make me a bad person or did I find a incredibly good deal.
@naryanrobinson Analogy time! Have you ever purchased single episodes of a television series? Sometimes you might have done this just to enjoy certain parts of a series instead of the series as a whole(a point you bring up with game completion), you have no intention of getting each one to "finish the series", fair enough, your prerogative. Now imagine that the show comes out with some webisodes/behind the scenes episodes that cost a fraction of what the entire series cost you that you can purchase to round out your enjoyment of the show, but by no means are required to enjoy/understand said series. Would you boycott that show? You also state that Gearbox took their product apart and are selling parts of it for "literally twice the total price of the whole" so, the DLC will come to $120? I think your math is wrong, plus, all of the expansion DLC is still in development, thus, NOT part of the "whole"
@Zero_Echo No the DLC is not "still in development" it's never still in development. If you're EA then you're stupid enough to put it on the same disc to cut costs, if you're not, you keep it on a hard drive somewhere in the office until the time is right, but the story is always the same.
People don't market episodes of a series individually because they'd never sell. People aren't as addicted to series' as they are to games. Gamers are one of the most immature, self-centred communities on the internet and like dogs will generally eat up whatever you put in front of them until they get sick because they're generally incapable of thinking about anything besides what they want *right now*.
*My* maths is wrong? I'm saying the DLC costs $120? Do you have a clue what is going on here?
Here I'll spell it out for you.
They are taking ONE product, splitting four parts off it and charging the same for each of the parts.
Each of the parts costing £8.
£8x4=£32.
The game on release costs £30.
The total cost is 107% higher than it would be if we got the original, unstripped product at the start. Surely this maths is not so above you?
@Zero_Echo Ha! You really think people are addicted to Grey's Anatomy the way kids are addicted to video games?
It's called "Internet Gaming Addiction" (IGA) and physiologists have been putting pressure on the editors of the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" to include it as a psychological disorder for years, particularly post 2005.
As of 2011, nearly 5% of the video game playing demographic have a severe case of IGA. That's 1 in 20 just so you know.
You're really telling me that you think 1 in 20 Grey's Anatomy watchers are severely clinically addicted to it? Not even close, and the numbers of people watching television is getting less and less every year.
So do yourself a favour and don't try and play that card.
@naryanrobinson "People aren't as addicted to series' as they are to games." Apparently you've never heard of Doctor Who, Lost, Game of Thrones, Grey's Anatomy, Bones, The Office, Parks and Recreation, any reality tv, etc. etc.
@naryanrobinson Well you don`t have to! it does not change the game`s ending. And tin the shops I still see copies that includes premiere club for £37. So it`s still free even if you didn`t pre-ordered it! Check HMV Piccadily Circus if you like.
@shiptarr It's not *this* product I have a problem with, it's the DLC marketing strategy generally. If this product is in a particular store for less, it really doesn't change anything.
Besides it's only £1 less than buying both the parts individually on Steam, so it's hardly free.
@naryanrobinson All right I see your point. But I was talking about the console pre-order copies of the game still being sold in some stores, so it`s cheap and means free DLC.
For the overall DLC thing, I also hate for in disc content of being locked and have to pay for those stuff. But there are also some DLC`s in expansion pack format which are being developed after the games finished and give opportunity to explore more for some dedicated and willing fans. Like Elder Scroll `s expansions and so! I am sure that there will be nice mission oriented DLC`s actually worth paying for Borderlands 2 as well.
@naryanrobinson How is it a "greedy drip-feeding tactic"? It was free for people who supported them, it's not required to finish the game, and if you really want to try her out it becomes your final point of letting people decide for themselves if "they" get what "they" want when "they" want it.
@Zero_Echo How it is *not*!?
You take a game that's worth $50-$60 and you split it up into parts and sell it for $100.
As for "not being required to finish the game", since when do people play games to finish them? It's the experience that matters, and they're stripping away the experience one piece at a time and taking the same amount of money for it.
You say "they" as though they're one consciousness, as though they are all a team, a unit, communicating and agreeing on the course of action best for the collective.
They're not. The majority of the world is made of selfish individuals who really don't give a damn what the consequences are for other people of their actions when they make them.
I suppose you think the rich people should be allowed to buy all the oil because "they" want to, and drive the price up for everyone else because it's what "they" want.
Twist it how you want, but this is the exact same thing on a smaller scale.
@naryanrobinson I guess I am stupid. Stupid enough to reply to a DLC troll. Sorry won't happen again.
@naryanrobinson @saucex4 Sorry nary but you seem to lack intelligence.
Never mind that this adds nothing to the content(just a new class) and is completely optional to enjoying the full BL2 experience.
Also never mind that each "DLC" that they do is often quite beefy and worth the money.
Also you lack intelligence.Just thought i say it again...ya know...to make sure you got it.
I don't give a #hit about what you like. My point is the valuation you make on a game is based on if you like the content that is given to you @ the retail MSRP. Some people are willing to shell out lots of money for very little, and some people are not willing to spend even $1 for Borderlands for example.
Also all people don't buy games to finish them? You can't make a generalisation like that because I finished every single one of my games and I have a lot of friends that do the same. So I will quote you "Keep your mouth shut about stuff you don't know anything about". Suck that lemon hater!
As if you know the first thing about what I like.
Keep your mouth shut about stuff you don't know anything about.
@naryanrobinson @Zero_Echo BL2 is worth $60 standalone for sure. It has such a buttload of content it's nuts. If you're played BL2 with 1 class and played only the story missions, and skipped all the audio logs (which are spectacular btw) then I think it's your own fault for not wanting to experience the content they gave you.
You have challenges, you have legendaries to collect, tons of secrets and easter eggs to find. Audio logs with great writting that bring the story to life, and a shit ton of guns.
If you do not see value in this game then it's not because the game isn't worth $60, it's you not liking the game to being with. If you like a game then you see value in it, and Borderlands is just not for you.
