I need help! I picked up MW3 on Friday and have made it to level 40, but I still get wrecked every time I play a match, no matter what game mode.
Right now I mostly use the CM901 + support package (because I can't stay alive long enough for assault/specialist).
I would like some advice on movement, shooting and team play techniques. What weapons should I stick to? Game modes for begginers? Any advice for a rookie would be much appreciated because I'm getting stomped.

I go with the PPM90 or ACR. I don't think you've unlocked the ACR yet. I use a kick, silencer, slight of hand, hard line, and steady aim. With steady aim the PPM90 is deadly shooting from the hip. The silencer reduces recoil. If you don't have the silencer unlocked, don't give up on it until you unlock it. It will make a world of difference. But, distance shots aren't that great especially with the silence. And try not to zoom in, aim from the hip for fairly close enemies.
The ACR is a great gun. MANY people use it. I use the same attachments and perks. This gun will change your gaming experience.
I'm a decent player. I have days when I'll get 25 kills and 4 deaths. Then there days when I'll just break even or just below. These work for me and may or may not work for you.

Use the Type 95. It is overpowered.
No more overpowered than the shotty or AK or dual weild guns. Honestly I don't believe most players are skilled enough to use the Type 95's effectively. I'm a beast with it tho. That and the AK (very inaccurate)- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

Then i switched my tactic to stealth, and now every match i do i always have more kills then deaths and mostly come 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. You should try different tactics. If you feel like taking up stealth then go around the edge of the maps and take out the stragglers, get behind enemy lines. With the right perks and attachments, you will be a ninja. My loadout: SCAR-L - Attachments - Silencer & Red dot sight/ FMG9 - Red dot sight. Perks: Blind eye - Assassin - Stalker Killstreak - Specialist - Scavenger - Quickdraw - Steady aim Hope this helped :D

The silencer reduces recoil.
no it doesn't, it reduces muzzle flash which makes your sights clearer and you are able to see your targets better and correct your aim more effectively

Good advise: try different tactics.
Another good bit of advise (got this from my wife): always watch the killkam after you go down. You can pick up some good strategies, ambush corners, and other tips.
I too find that I do pretty well with a ninja loadout (using the UMP) like that; it also helps that the EMP doesn't affect you with that setup. Of course I still get my clock cleaned by those guys who live in the game.
I have different loadouts for different matches really. In a Domination match I usually carry an LMG; the first one you get is actually pretty good.
I don't do that well at this game either but I still have fun. The good thing is that things like support packages make MW3 more noob friendly. Unfortunately it also has one of the most messed up matchmaking systems; I often see the best scorers pitted against the worst.

I'd try the pp90m1 or type 95 since both are pretty powerful. I always thought kill confirmed was a bit easier as well.

- Jul 18, 2012 6:09 am GMTUse easy guns like the ACR 6.8, run Blindeye and Assassin to avoid air support, sentries, and the UAV. And I suggest playing the maps offline or in a private match just to get more familiar with them. I dread not having Blind Eye and Assassin cause even if you don't camp the constant UAV spam alone is enough to really screw up a match for you. Plus if you don't run Blind Eye and you just happen to be doing well helicopters will target you as a high threat. It's been that way since COD4. I tested it out myself I jumped into a match using my Sleight of Hand class. I was doing really well then the helicopters came out and just started smoking me, lost an AC-130, got spawn killed about 3 times in a row, then when I've been smacked around enough they leave me alone with about 5 extra deaths. Broke my personal mantra so I got nobody to blame but myself for that one. Personal Mantra: If you can't be humble in the presence of an Attack Chopper you better at least be sneaky.

- Jul 23, 2012 1:13 am GMTJiggy is right. Run private matches to familiarize yourself with the maps. The hot spots however (where the most activity occurs) you'll probably only discover while playing online though. Believe me, I had a .98 k/d ratio because I wasn't really paying attention to the maps and such. I was just running around. My rule of thumb until you get better is to have Assassin on all of your classes. Get rid of quick draw. It is far more important for you to stay OFF of that radar. In my opinion, a good beginning custom class would be pp90m1 with rapid fire or something. First perk being blind eye, second being assassin, third being stalker (or dead silence when you get it). I usually refer to this as sort of a "pouncing" class. If you have rapid fire on your gun, you don't sacrifice distance damage. So light one guy up and then just run away. Don't try to take on a gang of opponents unless they ALL have their backs to you. Get in, get out. See how it works for you.

I'd go with SMGs for close quarter combat and ARs for medium to longer range combat. I would also reccomend trying an objective based mode and trying to either play the objective well or kill those who are distracted with the objective. Also, if possible, get a friend who is better than you to play on your team with you.
