Really didnt enjoy red alert 3 i have ordered c'n'c 4 because i want to finish the story but looks like they have ruined the visuals and gameplay c'n'c 3+KW have being my favorite followed closey by generals and i mean closely. They are trying to copy company of heroes or DOW style i liked c'n'c because it was different having harvesters balances the play makes you bide your time and to strike with combined forces losing that kind of ruins c'n'c for me. The new style encourages flowing combat but just forces confrontation all the time.

I dislike tha current Gameplay. @ iron_zealot7531: At least, Blizzard isn't killing it's Gameplay-Style for a Crappier one, with limited abilities. The only advantage, that I see, is that You can build somethin g while moving your Base-Vehicle. But for the Gameplay, it's just a wayyy to different for me to see it as an C'n'C. It would be more fitting to the Gameplay, if they'd removed Command & Conquer from it's name, as the Gameplay is just not, what I hoped for. The differencies between CnC4 and it's predecessors are way too annoying, it's still playing in the same universe, but doesn't really feel like C'n'C. As for me, if obody's gonna give it to me as a gift or as a price, I'm not going to get it.

I have a proposition, transfer your money to EA for C&C 4 and EALA will keep them in their front pocket. Played the demo, its like DOW2 style gameplay however the HQ can move and you seems like you have unlimited amount of money all the time

iron_zealot7531 5 pts

the graphics aren't any worse than Starcraft II

NervoZa 8 pts

Like how this Bass guy started the interview..C&C 4 is kinda interesting-hahahaha! Still the game graphics dont look that bad or childish.Guess will see.

Johny_47 28 pts

I really hated what happened to Red Alert 3 - sure they kept the cool real life cinematics with cool actors but the gameplay was absolute rubbish, too childish and overall boring but the main thing was that cheesy outline around the buildings and units... And now they've done the same with the LAST(last should be as good or better than the first) Tiberium game, I'm quite a big RTS and C&C fan butwith the no harvesting I might have gotten used to but the gameplay and 'outline' around things just ruins it. I understand that the outline is to help show what units are selected but it just makes it look childish and less realistic, I'm having big doubts about this game =/

Forwardboy 5 pts

EA sure likes to screw up games...They did the same thing to Red Alert, now the Tiberium saga. Why the F did they change the building/harvesting elements ,that are a trademark in all CNC games, to make this pile of elephant poop .

meh boring. nothing beats RA2:YR!

Supreme Commander wanabe FAIL.... Where are those cool aliens?*sarcasim*

I am one of the many people who was disappointed with this game. The graphics is not that good and I think the game is too colorful and childish, like a rated E game in terms of graphics. This game is too futuristic for me. Enough with the lasers! I think EA needs to make another C&C Generals type of game, a game that is not futuristic and a game that features current weapon technologies, like a C&C version of World in Conflict. I agree with AleksandarTale, the only thing that is making this game look good are the cutscenes.

dzej 5 pts

if you want epic memorable battles you should play supreme commander, not this childish crap. just take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAPp_l230yE

@zooz12 Your internet is slow, that's what's up. Pause the video and let it load / buffer for a minute or two then play it.

zooz12 5 pts

WTF is up with the video streaming here on gamespot.com!??!? loads a bit then stops for a minute or two and then loads a bit more.... seariously, what's up with that?!?

AleksandarTale 8 pts

I was dissapointed the firt time i saw this. I thought EA could at least keep up the good work on the C&C series. The only thing good here is the story and cutscenes. I think that the only thing keeping EA up is the deals for DAO and Mass Effect. If anyone else thinks otherwhise please PM me and il start a topic in the forums for this.

I played the beta.. Interesting concept for the first few mintues. However, level progression is far too slow to keep the attention span of the more advanced players. But for those who played the game obsessively and have access to the higher tier units it makes for a horridly uneven match up since low lvl commanders T1 units are nothing compared to the high lvl commanders T1 units on steroids. Game basically comes down to commander level and who spams the most fastest.

nurse_tsunami 6 pts

Animation on the units seems pretty jerky and poor.

Despair84 5 pts

I was a bit sad when i played the beta..... its was fun for a few hours but It lacks base building resources gathering and the rank sucks for new players :/ The 3 crawlers should just be like a mod or mode for multiplayer Iths fun but like diablosdevil says its zerg zerg zerg I liked cc3 alot but this is more like battleforge or demi god

diablosdevil 5 pts

this may be good for begginer stratigic players but for the more advanced who liked to keep track of how much resources they needed for what it seems WAY too simple. I've played the beta and its fun to experience the difference but after you've played 1 or 2 hours you dont see anything different happening. only thing i think could help it is if they added alot more units so its more about what you build, not what tier you are. tech rush to tier 3, games over in 15.

xtramj 5 pts

So I've been playing the beta and this is actually a pretty fun multiplayer game. The rundown.... Pros: It's good to see a game so focused on teamwork to obtain victory A lot more action while still keeping strategy alive Leveling up feels rewarding even if it's too easy Interesting and fun class distinctions (very much feel the differences) Cons: Can be hard to get your team to be a team It's very focused on teamwork and doesn't leave a lot of room for one man bands. The units are still a little unbalanced and healing units lead to unit spam. Campaign looks terrible Live action movies don't belong in games yet

Dawn_oF_Doom 7 pts

@bob_geldof221 yes, EA owns Westwood, but that is just a name. The people who worked on the original CC and CC2 are out of there... working somewhere else. Only a few of them remained at westwood, and this was in 2007. Didn't hear anything since. @ezmai_rautez I wouldn't want them to make DUNE 3 because they would most f**k it up. I would say: Let THQ or Ubisoft buy the license for Dune and they make it with some company that actually knows how to make a good game.

Ezmai_RauteZ 5 pts

Oh by the way, Bring on DUNE 3, but umm erhem, made by westwood, NOT EA LA!!!!

Ezmai_RauteZ 5 pts

Looks like Starcraft II may have a win this year, which makes me happy, im a C&C & Starcraft/Warcraft fan, if one fails, the other wins, so I win too hehe hahaha, mua hahahahaha

HuSSaR83 28 pts

I played beta of this for 1 hour and got bored. I dunno what fans this lead designer is talkin about? I can't believe that original C&C fans would like this "RA3 mod" lol..... I'd rather play remake of first C&C game than this crap

valent1n 5 pts

it seems that this one will disappoint big time

PredatorRules 6 pts

worst C&C game ever! combined RA3 graphics and gameplay with some new stuff, C&C 3 was good, this is a bad game

kengi_ikazuchi 11 pts

lasers, lasers, lasers... it's just another release w/ a fancier lightshow. C&C has lost the authenticity for great story telling, strategy, and gameplay.

aramus555 5 pts

ah cmoooon! get better visuals dammit, dont screw this up like you did on RA3 (biggest dissopointment)

Taker25f 5 pts

Command & Conquer Tiberian FAIL! cant wait for the day EA goes bankrupt... Blizzard is gona define a strategy game compared to this crap...

tomcrole 6 pts

money dosnt make a stagey game, stratergy does i love this new way much better

seaevil 5 pts

I don't like the game it's not a real time strategy game anymore if there is no sort of money. It's just building and shooting and if you get destroyed you begin over again. a shame

Anicsin 5 pts

lol? that building system looks like in Earth 2150 or wh 40k poor little c&c... ea blews everything

navyseai 5 pts

i used to like when c&c made sense... I mean its just random units with no meaning. For example... why do bases need 4 legs? they were just fine with "tank wheels" legs are vulnerable and you probably cant even climb mountains or anything... Also i think the mechs with 4 cannon arms look stupid... and now all weapons are just lasers with different colors? well watever... im sad for c&c

Wintermist 5 pts

C&C4 is like a C&C mod for Red Alert 3. I really DO NOT like it.

Lordan007 5 pts

I like that realy soft graphics and interface ,looks wery good.I did not like much C&C Red Alert 3's cartoonish graphics but this looks much serious and better than that.

sartnd 5 pts

This is not Westwood's game, its some EA LA crap.

VeXeN 5 pts

Epic fail.. Everything has been down hill since RA2 IMHO and this is the final nail in the coffin. I played the beta and it was total garbage. Makes me Laugh, do you guys remember back in the day when at one point it was Blizzard VS Westwood.. To think I was a Westwood guy.. :-( PS I miss Dune2.

Dawn_oF_Doom 7 pts

Ok, these guys scewed up bigtime. They saw that DoW2 was a major multiplayer blast and wanted to do the same... Now for starters: Kane doesnt die in CC4. KANE LIVES! Nor in the expansion. In the expansion you gain control of those sleeping super-humans that kane engineered 10 years before the events of CC4 and then you go get the tacitus. He doesn't die! I doubt the GDI would think that the NOD could pulll off such an attempt by themselves without Kane's vision. Seriously... at least play the goddamn game or have some1 do it for you. I understand the ideea of: not building a base. it is a popular notion, very well appreciated by players and DOW2 proved it. It also makes sense that since the world is full of tiberium you don't need to fight for it and harvest it on the scene of battle. The graphics: Sux. I liked the CC3 more graphics because it was more realistic. This sux big time. Its like red alert 3 graphics... and the CC series were supposed to be the more dramatic game of the series and red alert was the funny one. Overall i think it will be good in multiplayer, an intruiging campaign if it focuses on kane, lame graphics and a may or may not be a total screw-up regarding the finality they give it.

Brazucass 6 pts

Cool! Another strategy game without battles for resources, but for better positions in the gamefield. I think it is a much more modern concept. I hate logistics but love to focus on action.

sosa_the_spy 5 pts

neither the single nor multi-player will be a blast for any real-time strategy fan this game is a total failure as a C&C it is a nice dawn of war 2 though good job sam bass you ruined the final game of the franchise you couldnt wait till the story ended before ruining the game :(

Gelugon_baat 479 pts

But yes, Sam Bass appears not to really have the canon fully understood.

Gelugon_baat 479 pts

EA certainly ripped out part of the heart of the C&C series, namely the resource harvesting. On the other hand, players do still run around collecting tiberium that is mysteriously dropped from orbit for some reason that I have yet to be aware of. In any case, I would not rule out the game being lousy; I am participating in the beta and everything looks solid for now, though I would warn C&C long-time fans that there is no such thing as building bases anymore. In fact, it plays more like World in Conflict than C&C 3. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as World in Conflict is a terrifically fun game. P.S. I would not listen to a certain person below me too much though. I happen to have encountered said person last year in the pages for Dawn of War II, and said person is painfully ignorant on certain things. Research is still there in C&C 4, though it has now evolved into instantaneous upgrading of units, the cost of which is drawn from the pool of tiberium that a team has collected.

Hicks_1 5 pts

This game is doomed. The complete obliteration of harvesting also got rid of researching. For every deadspace or battlefield there are games like this. completely butchered by EA. The fact that the developer doesnt know his own cannon of the game he's working on is not a good sign. Kane was still alive and was "ascended" at the end of it all.
