Anyone new to Counter-Strike is bound to feel intimidated. With the release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive we wanted to give a breakdown of the 5 things new players need to know before they go into this remake of the classic multiplayer shooter.
this game sucks. it's starting to look like Ea's FIFA series where a new shiny coat of paint is applied every year and sold as a new product. i see NO changes in gameplay. no additional modes, no global player ranking, no real player balance. BF3's online wipes the floor with CS:GO.
too many geeks play this...it's nothing but frustration being headshot by some 12hour a day camper. would be nice to just have fun, but some losers take this s*** seriously.
2 Like all of u are missing the point; COD\BF\MOH and counter strike are great games , I have tried each of the 4 games on XBOX 360 and PC , and it doesn`t matter if u can`t aim through the ironsights ,it is still a great game
I can't believe they are comparing CS to CoD, CS has been around FAR longer than COD and I even bet it has been around longer than their players. (Assuming their players weren't born before 2001).
Not to poke at it, but are you sure about that? CoD has been around a long time, but so has CS. I'm not sure which is older.
@TKavney92 @TonnFool23 use google to search for the answers to your questions. I know when CoD came out because I got it as soon as it came out for the PC. I switched to CoD because it was an extension of MoH at that time. I no longer play CoD online because i am looking for a different experience from video games now.
1 Like @TonnFool23 2 years is not that much longer... the first CoD game dropped in 2003 and was amazing on the PC. I am no longer a huge CoD fan, i like playing offline with my friends, like survival mode, but the frantic online pacing has since passed as my favorite way to enjoy games.
Nah Cod/BF players never understand how "SKILLED" is Counter Strike. Keep Calm, your precious noob games are safe.

Camping behind a wall and using Perk or modified weapons is skilling for you? No way! I'm a low skilled online player, i admited, but you can't say that nonsense, because is a big nonsense!
@OtherFabbros @Innos007666 i feel like BF should not be listed with CoD... they are very different games played by very different people. It takes "SKILL" to be good at BF or CS and lets face it, if youre not good at CoD, or FPS in general, you get f***ed online. I do understand the CoD hate though.
the PSN is down...hopefully they will release the CS:GO to buy....cant believe its still not here :(

If your coming from COD/BF and jump into this game, you're gonna have a bad time.

4 Like the people that dont understand why theres no ironsights in CS. its to keep the action fun and fluid. Im telling you now, you wont be successful spraying at all. think of it as, when you stop and shoot you are actually aiming down the sights even though you cant see the image of an iron sight as an image like COD.
When you stop and shoot your aim increases JUST like if you had iron sights adn stopped to shoot. This game is WAY more hardcore than COD ever was with aiming. You wont be killing sht running around and spamming. Youll be dying more than killing thats for sure.

This game destroys COD. I was honestly waiting for this so I didn't have to play COD or BF3 or MOH when I wanted to play a modern shooter.

3 Like @OGKNav I have no idea why they even made it for console in the first place. They will cry over iron sights and no health regeneration, ontop of the fact that there is actually tactics, an economy, and timing that you have to master to actually be considered good. Anyone can run around in circles with perks that give them a more than increased edge of advantage.
@Sergeant_ @OGKNav Tactics! Ha this is no better then Cod when it come to camping.. It's alway fun to find the other team still at the spawn point sitting in the corner somewhere but yea... Economy? what economy?? you mean the money you get at the end of the round that increase with every round and you never have a shortage to buy some of the good gun?

@Muyypotpie @Sergeant_ Well yeah. Quake or CS players are pretty has very high skill levels for any FPS games. The learning curve is really large.

1 Like @maxwell97 I have to agree with you. The average CoD players on console aren't close to the skill level of Consoles. Also, why is everyone complaining about it being on consoles? Who cares!? Let the console gamers enjoy it too and stop being selfish!
@arsenal1111 @Sergeant_ I think he's saying that the rank-and-file console gamer is pretty casual. Which is true. View the recent story on cod vs bf3 - many fanboys claiming that framerate isn't important to shooters. And there was much facepalming by me. I'll also note that average CoD players on console, in my experience, are not nearly as good as the PC crowd.
6 Like Iron sights was an innovation made specifically for consoles, because gamepads are inherently less accurate than keyboard and mouse so you need a way to zero in on your target faster without flicking your mouse. Seeing all these comments about "NEEDS IRONSIGHTS HURR" obviously are not too experienced with PC shooters in general. CS has always required tons more skill than CoD or Halo, and it will always attract the hardcore competitive crowd. Adding ironsights would ruin that old-school feel. Maybe I'm just old, idk, but CS does NOT need ironsights, ever.
1 Like @mynameisjosh657i agree with cod but not halo, u notice halo having ironsights? no didnt think so. halos requires as much skill but on a different scale. halo is a true game of skills= gun, mellee and grenades(golden triangle)combinations......and then came halo reach and odst.
only backing the classic halo games man :)
