i love esoteric video game knowledge. If only I knew as much about real physics as I did diablo physics I wouldn't be getting a "D"
  • Apr 10, 2005 10:24 am GMT
I had to build a catapult for physics class. It had to launch the rubber stopper 60 feet or more to pass. I stayed up the night before and spent about two hours throwing boards together, and mine only shot the damned thing about 30 feet. I failed.

Too bad I didn't enjoy building things as much then as now. I should have aced that crap, but instead all I wanted to do was get back to playing Super Mario World and Final Fantasy.

Now that I was thinking about summoners from that necro thread, why doesn't anyone ever MF with a summoner? You need absolutely no good equipment or stats to make a good summoner. There's enough points for you to put into strength for the equip and all. The only reason I could think of would be maybe summons don't get MF bonuses? Or maybe it takes too long to get to and kill bosses?

summoners are the suxorz at killing bosses in classic.
  • Apr 15, 2005 3:58 pm GMT
Summoners do get mf bonus on their summons.

Getting 10 skellies in act3/4 hell solo with a necro focused on summons isnt fast or easy.

Which files am I supposed to copy from my CD to not need to spin the CD to load stuff? Every time I finish something and the characters have to say something, I have a huge lag while my old CPU spins and reads the CD. It's getting annoying, since I never am able to get any drops on the first time through. I usually just put up with not being able to get drops every time that happens, but this time I missed the chance to nab a silks.

do a "full install" which will copy teh movie files. However in order to supress the movie files totally, download C3P0, which has an option to suprress NPC voice and all that.

Chief, what the Hell are you talking about? Are you responding to Darknut's question? Because if you are, that has nothing to do with anything...

Darknut, if you haven't already read it somewhere else by now, here's the deal. To play without any constant spinning up/down of the CD drive to read the disc, copy each and every .MPQ file from the Play Disc into your D2 main directory folder. Then after you boot up, just eject the Play Disc.

i thought he meant like after he killed andarial he wanted to put the animation of her dying on his computer, which is part of the full install. Or did he want the between scenes movies? I'm confused.
  • Apr 23, 2005 8:40 pm GMT
He wanted to stop the lag associated with CD drive spin up, you crazy, fantastic bastard. Hahaha, where in the holy hell did you pull that crap about wanting to save movies out of? Jesus, man, had you even read his post? XD

Yeah, I was asking about what Gaijin said. I remember he said it before, but I was too lazy to go through this whole thread and the faq to see if it was in one of those.

he was complainig that he never got any drops! If you do the full install and use a supressor of the animation, theres no lag and you can get the drops!
  • Apr 24, 2005 7:43 am GMT
I was actually complaining because there was always lag when my computer spun and read the CD, which would take like 5 or 6 seconds, in which time all the drops are gone.

Kelly Clarkson is about as attractive as a drunken dwarf, and I am sick of seeing Brandy's ugly God damned face every bit as much as seeing her ass-mantle dangling above her head. Nasty looking hoes. Who the hell makes ths awful ads, anyway? Blech.
