This is the particular type of user that irritates me the most. Claims one side to be true. Provides no evidence. No logic. No reasoning. Nice contribution bro.

You don't have to provide evidence and reasoning when it's already been provided in the topic.

You're wrong, and you should feel bad for the position your taking. I could see why that person claiming truth would irk you.

Nice job proving me right. The entire argument that you are giving is: "You are wrong". Wow man, great use of logic and evidence.

I've already refuted the points in the topic using actual logic and facts. The vast majority of points brought up in this topic are not logical and have no factual basis.

Go ahead, i give you full permission to take every single point i've made in this topic and refute it. Lets see if anything you say will make any sense or if you'll stick to the good ol' "lol im right and youre wrong".

While Jim's stance is a bit too extreme for my liking, I'd still say he's certainly on the right side of the spectrum. The cons far outweigh the pros when it comes to being online only, especially when it in no way resembles an MMO.

    - Servers down for any reason? You can't play.
    - Crappy ISP? Either you can't play, you get d/c frequently (And lose progress), or you have to deal with lag, despite playing solo.
    - Traveling? Can't play.
    - Don't have internet for whatever reason? Can't play.
    - Even if you're connected, you may very well still be playing solo with a degree of lag, which is just plain awful.
    - It doesn't allow for mods (D2 had some incredible mods)
    - Can't play on a LAN.

Pros? I guess it helps out the economy in a video game. That might matter to some folks, but I'd say being able to play it in the 1st place should be the priority. Besides, for those of us who chose to play Diablo and/or D2 offline (myself included), well, the economy doesn't impact us in the slightest. Certainly not as much as a constant required connection does, that's for sure.

Basically, the "pros" consist of a video game economy and DRM to fight piracy. It amounts to a lot of legit players having to go through a bunch of hurdles. Depending on your situation, those hurdles may include things you have no control over. This isn't just a matter of throwing in another couple gigs of RAM. This can potentially stop you from playing the game due to something as ridiculous as where you live.

As I've said before, hackers suck & all that, but a hacker has *never* prevented me from playing D2. A constant connection for D3, however, has prevented me from playing it quite a bit. As a consumer, it's hard to say this sort of thing even slightly resembles "good".

More like, if you feel compelled enough to complain, you need to re-evaluate your life.

Blizzard has the right to do this in the name of their own interests, I support them on this, I realize it is 100% for their protection and not mine. Guess what I do if the servers are down? Something else. Shocking, isn't it. I bet most of the people who are whining about DRM are the same people downloading games left and right.

Customer is always right, or do you not get how capitalism is supposed to work?

Please go work somewhere as any form of customer support for 1 day. Actually, make that any job where you have to deal with the general public.

You see, I've already pointed out in this topic that those who chose not to buy the game because of the online only, are more than welcome to complain that it prevents them from playing. I have absolutely nothing against wanting an offline mode. The problem is that people buy it and then complain about something they were warned about on the box.

Furthermore, those without stable internet connection were never the target audience, hence why it is online only. Blizzard isn't being "bad" just because some people can't play. The audience that wants to play D3 and has a stable internet connection is larger than the rest. If the majority of the audience wanted offline, it would have been offline simply because Blizzard would have made a lot more money in that case. The majority have no problem with the game being online because they were going to play online anyways. Just because not everyone is pleased doesn't make it "bad". Lots of people wanted Skyrim to be online, is it bad because it wasnt? no, the much larger target audience built up from the previous games wanted it offline only, and the significant extra effort to appease the rest wouldnt have been worth it.

Also, the DRM is not to prevent piracy. It is to prevent people from accessing particular files that would make it easier to get around Blizzard's security. Some of the code runs on the server. Not being an mmo doesn't change the fact that the game is coded like one for the added security it provides.

Very few things are able to be proven on "facts". It's why we label things we know so much about and researched so thoroughly as being only theory's, such as the theory of gravity. Believe or not we just don't know enough about gravity to call it the law of gravity.

If you were a reasonable man you would be able to make the connections to see these as being reasonably factual, although still not provable.

Can you prove that killing someone is morally wrong? People have been doing it for centuries, reasoning that being strong means the right to impose your will on others. No you couldn't, but a reasonable person by our society's standards should be able to see why it is so.

You haven't disproven anything. You've closed your eyes and covered your ears and said "no proof lalala". Quite frankly, you are a horrible consumer. To go to such great lengths to defend the actions of a gaming company, their acts to gain more control and restrict and screw over their customers shows a state of mind that is beyond reason.

It was explained quite well in the video. Sure, there's benefits to an online only model but the restrictions imposed on the consumer for the problem is beyond justification.

As I said, you're obstinate. You will defend your ill conceived notions to your dying breath. I hope one day you'll have enough self respect where you will defend your own interest instead of spewing the company line.

I agree that there should have been an offline only mode, but I strongly disagree with a lot of the things he said.

Anyone who even thought they'd have an issue with offline only should never have given Blizzard their money. They can still vote with their wallets, as Blizzard is giving out refunds.

*Gamers complain and demand it should be a single player and think they can go to the BBB*

You are a prime example of the usual arrogant poster.

Your position is not an argument all by itself. I guess silly things like using logic is too much to ask?

LOL, I like how your reasoning for my posts not proving anything amounts to "You haven't disproven anything". Really, thats your reasoning? You are still proving me right. You aren't explaining why anything you say is right. You are just saying it's right. You are not telling me what points in the video are proving me wrong. You are not telling me which points in the topic prove me wrong. Most importantly, you are not telling me why i'm wrong. Your argument comes down to nothing more than spewing insults.

Notice how i'm taking specific points that you bring up and showing you why they're wrong? That is what you need to do. Please, take the arguments that I make and prove them wrong. I genuinely want you to do so.

Oh wait, you'll just say "lol I dont have to". Please prove me wrong. Please. According to you, everything to do so is here in the topic, so it should be easy, right?

Also, Fun Fact: Theories that are accepted in science have massive amounts of evidence to support their case. That's why they are the accepted theory. Furthermore, even those "laws" are theories. The moment evidence comes about to prove something wrong, science isn't going to ignore it.

Please don't bring up intelligence. It hurts me how somehow who speaks and thinks like you can consider themselves smart.

Edit: btw, the only reason I am here is to point out how you idiotically tell others they're providing "no evidence or reasoning/logic" in their post when the points (including the ones in the video) that they're hinging their arguments on are already available in the topic.

It's sad how you pretend to be ignorant of what was said 15 minutes beforehand in a rereadable internet topic to try to claim another posters arguments are baseless.

TLDR No one is obligated to post readily available information for you beyond the first time just because you want them to explain nice and slowly, as they would for a child.

EDIT: "btw, the only reason I am here is to point out how you idiotically tell others they're providing "no evidence or reasoning/logic" in their post when the points (including the ones in the video) that they're hinging their arguments on are already available in the topic.

Do you want me to show you my post, in response to you, in which I specifically acknowlegde their arguments? I said that their points were illogical and did not have evidence. Points =/= evidence.

There are specific posts that I am saying have No logic and no reasoning. I've specifically pointed out, to you already, that the points that are readily available in the topic are not logical. In other words, their logic does not make sense. The logic I refuted them with made more sense. I've already addressed these people's points. You have not addressed mine. All you've done is say they are wrong and have not said why.

I'm not obligated to argue your justifications and your thoughts on subjects already visited. There's a bunch of points based on reason and consumer interest, and then there's yours which are based on knee jerk reactions and blind company love (points gone over in the video, and shown to be silly).
