I'd recommend Titan Quest as well, along with its expansion. It's a pretty great dungeon crawl, but it suffers from lack of polish and a LOT of filler areas.

You really have to try NOX, it's not just a diablo clone, it's the closest thing to diablo I've ever played, I even liked more than diablo 2.

    What?
Have you actually played anything from the genre aside from those two?

Nox is one of my favourite games of all time, but it's nothing like a Diablo clone aside from some gameplay similarities.

Nox is also one of my favourite games of all time, but I don't see how is not a diablo clone.
Please tell me the differences... it's even closer to diablo 3 in terms of gameplay, top view, lots of powers, the exact same controls, merchants, click n run gameplay, spells, three different types of characters, wizard, conjurer and warrior, leveling, items, clothing, armor, silly story.

How on earth can you say Nox is not a loooooot like diablo, just go ahead and watch a youtube video of each game and it's impossible not to see the similarity.

Does Dungeons of Dredmor count? Because, if you can get around the graphics, it's one of the most fun loot based dungeon crawlers ever. It's also hilarious.

titan quest is the best .. torchlight is very mediocre. not good but not bad. it will suffice if you're desperate . everything else i've tried has sucked. diablo 3 haters be grateful you got what might quite possibly be the last good dungeon crawler and stop nitpicking.

I got all 3 Dungeon Siege games and ya 2 is best by far.

I also got Sacred and Sacred 2 and I think 1 was great 2 was just meh

Theres Fate which isn't too bad

and an older one that I enjoyed, Siege of Avalon

I think Sacred and DS2 are my fav Diablo clones though

It's not that I don't got a full 6 pack, I just lack the plastic thing that holds it all together.

Dungeon Siege's multiplayer was amazing back in the day... go anywhere you want, when you want. Monsters dont scale so going from town 1 to town 6 was highly unadvised but you COULD.

Dungeon Siege 2 was made more linear than the first's multiplayer but less than the single player due to DS2's MP and SP being the same.

I guess you could try NWN2 but it takes considerable thought to make a unique+good build, also it's less crawler and more old style RPG.

Icewind dale was good but I havent played it in so long the specifics are kind of gone for me.

Divine Divinity (The first) was a very good crawler with somewhat okay story elements, it's an RPG with combat like diablo.

You could also try Sacred 2 but there have been mixed results.

Fate and Fate 2 were great fun. Torchlight was fun as well, but I never really got into Titan's Quest.

Divine Divinity. It's a bit slow paced and the challenge is up there, but the atmosphere and storytelling are extremely well done.

surprised no one mentioned titan quest yet. thinking about giving that a try

Titan quest is neat because of all the crazy classes you can build.

    Dungeon Hunter: Alliance (psn)
Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance series (ps2)
EverQuest: Champions of Norrath series (ps2)

    Nox:
Probably the closest thing you'll get to Diablo. It's almost as if it's a spin off. Quite old.

    Torchlight:
Fun for a quick fix, but a bit too cartoony for me. Good skill system, pretty good loot, boring story/quests. MODS!

    Divine Divinity:
Amazing old school RPG. Diablo style combat and loot. But definately more RPG involved. More dialogue, puzzles etc.

    Titan Quest:
For me my favourite ARPG behind Diablo 2. Decent setting, decent story. Quests are a bit boring and repetative, but the gameplay is fantastic. Skill trees are epic. Classes are epic. Amazing LOOT!

Also Grim Dawn and Path of Exile are the 2 to keep an eye on. Path of Exile has been amazing so far. An atmosphere that hasen't been seen since Diablo 2, and Grim Dawn really looks like it'll be the best ARPG in years!!

Dungeons of Dreadmor is a Rogue-like+dungeon crawler, it is all about "losing is fun" mentality, not the loot grind.

It's still a very fun game. If anyone thinks D3 hardcore mode is fun, they should definitely try it and the many other rogue-likes out there, they are designed for that type of mode!
