Should I just restart?

Hello everyone. From the start of dragons dogma, I've built my character to be a mystic knight. I leveled from 1-13 or so as a strider (Rank 4 now), leveled as a fighter to rank 9, and leveled mage to rank 9. However, the more I think of it, the more I think I would like to be a ranger. I love the shooting system in this game. I'm around half way through the story (Just killed griffin), and I'm sure if I switch to ranger now I will fail miserably and do horrible damage. Would it be the better option to restart?

On a side note, what's other vocations are important for a ranger?

    Many thanks

No its not too late. You might not deal as much damage in the early run, but the stats you gained from your Fighter, Strider, Mage and Mystic Knight levels will carry over. Each vocation levels up stats differently, and pre level 100 is when you have highest stat increase per level up. So you'll actually be a fairly tanky Ranger, and if you switch now to Ranger then your DPS should start to increase with each successive level up.

i play as strider,  and i never switched classes. i'm lvl 29 now, and i don't know how the stats grow (depending of wich class you're using). i'm thinking about switcing to ranger or assassin, but i don't really know what would be better. any tips?

For each level after level 10 and before level 100, Assassins growth is mainly in their physical damage which is 6 per level. Rangers have less of a growth than Assassins in physical damage by 2 but more magick and physical defense. What I'd recommend is switching to Assassins for a majority of your levelling, then try out Ranger Vocation for a short while to see how you like it. This way your damage output will be optimized for when you switch to Ranger Vocation.

No, I wouldn't do that, earn enough discipline and you can change classes anyway. The stats you've gained from the fighter classes will make you strider character better as he/she will be stronger. I wouldn't be able to restart lol, would be too frustrating! haha.

Why not beat the game as one of your strongest classes, then New Game+ as a new class.
