- The Bottom Line:
- "Worth playing"
This game is definitely a keeper. The combat is the tightest and most enjoyable in
a rpg in a long time. Lip synching and voices aren't really perfect. Yet combat
animations are fluid, well timed and powerful with real weight that force you to
really engage with the game and the enemies you're fighting. The environment and
constant suspense of lurking enemies is a great change. Too often it feels like a
game is holding my hand or just throws you in the deep end. This shows you the
ropes and then dares you to walk off the beaten path at your own peril. Graphics
have become to much of an issue in todays gaming market, it makes me feel way older
then my 20 something years to say that, but it's still true. A great game is more
than it's graphics, If all you want is pretty pictures this games is proud to
disappoint. It is the sum of its parts and this game has some really nice peices to
work with. The main story line is interesting enough to make the world of dragons
dogma appealing enough to keep going to see how deep the rabbit hole goes, you'll
have a surprising amount of fun before you hit bottom. The questing isn't as up to
par as it could be but for a first foray into the westernish rpg genre its a great
bit of work. The second time around should be spectacular where as this is just
great, but that's the thing it's still great.

A great RPG that shows that Capcom doesn't give a damn about story telling anymore.
