GameSpot AU sits down with Peter Molyneux to chat a whole lot about freedom and horses in Fable: The Journey.
People think of it positively: It has better graphics and we cast magics with our hand. I know that the horse thing is unexplainable but what i want in 1st person shooter is that:- 1.we room in albion freely. 2.We ride horse not caravans(if we choose to) 3.Ou character can be a soldier or a prince not a mere caravan driver( we should have an important role, please lionhead. I am fable fan and lionhead must agree to our demands. Thumbs up if you agree.
why? why? why? why ruin a series that rocked Through the Century with some first person kinect cr*p thay should put thier efforts on fable 4 and not that sh*t at least thay can make a new dlc for fable 3. im not sure if im gonna buy this but im a fable fan im hopeing for the best
oh and one more thing the first fable in my opinion has to be the best out of them all coz the controls for it requied skill and practice to get it perfect unlike fable 2 and 3 because anyone could pick up the control and beable to complete the game whilst fable 1 if you never played in it before and just started playing youd struggle i mean i didnt find any difficult quests in 2 and 3 whilst lost chapters fighting Jack as the dragon was a difficult last boss
so let me get this straight they've gone from the awesome 3rd person customization free roaming game that happend to be brilliant and was one of the most fun games ive ever played to 1st person suckage which might i add has killed fable for me when i first heard about it i thought "oh cool another fable wound what this ones gonna be like" to now im thinking " PETER WHAT THE F@%$ HAVE YOU DONE TO FABLE" is it just me that thinks that or am I on my own here ???
gonna get canceled..............not much people like this well this was my first rpg so im gonna buy any fable game........im not nuts it peters fault he makes me buy it
the thing i love about fable 3 is being able to see the effects of your actions every where like on your character, the towns, your weapons, etc its seems to me that they are throwing all of this away and replaceing it with a pony
"This is not an on rail shooter"well it looks like one to me also where are the guns and swords you would find in a fable game
Seems like a good game for kinect but if I were him I would be thinking about how to make a Fable 4 better than any of the other Fable games.
So is this going to be a full feature game? Will I be able to put a good 50 hours in this game like I did with Fable 3?
Video gaming alone will never fulfill a person. If that's all you have in your life, then I guess you're going to get annoyed, when your next gaming fix doesn't do the job. Whenever I've seen Pete in interviews, he's always seemed authentic, when speaking of his love for the franchise. No game designer wants to disappoint it's followers, so some of you could learn to lighten up a bit. If you don't trust him, then you have the option of renting the game first, before forking out your cash on a game that's going to fall short of what you were expecting. If video gaming is that important to you, then you don't have enough going on in your life. Thumb me down if my words anger you. I'm curious as to how many of you take video gaming too seriously
@darkfall_225 Well when people are repeatedly lied to, the truth is that they get angry. He's said a lot of things, not all of it relating to Fable and almost never has it happened.
"You can play the game in the way you want to" I really love Peter Molyneux. I really do, I mean, no one in the gaming industry ever sounds as excited about their games as he does, though in this case its now more of him protecting a franchise thats falling apart. The thing is, he's a couple gaming generations early. One day when we can really do whatever we want with games, thats when whatever he sells will truly come out the way he promised. Until then...it's good old "You can do anything" Molyneux. I wish Lionhead a lot of luck, they'll need it.
You suck Peter Molyneux! No one believes you anymore. Stop over promising things and maybe people won't hate you. The guy demoing the game looks like a moron lol. I'd feel embarrassed doing all that crap playing the game. The Fable franchise and Peter Molyneux need to go away!!!
@darkfall_225 - I'm not sure anyone hates Molyneux, he just has a history of overpromising during development. The fact that he's talkative and colorful has just given him a bit of a reputation. It's not vitriol, think more, "Oh, that Molyneux, what's he said he's going to do now?"
Most confusing part: Is this game Kinect compatible? Or Kinect only? From EVERYTHING they showed, it looks like this game will require Kinect to play it.
I feel sorry for Pete. Regardless of what you might think of his games, the guy doesn't deserve all the hate some of you find amusing to throw his way.
This guy has been obsessed with the concepts of freedom for a decade or more, and yet there's little of it in his games. The Fable games are ok, I played them, but does Molineux even try other games? There's more freedom in Oblivion and Fallout than in his games. Stop worrying about game mechanics, Peter! Make better and longer stories first.
Pretty much everything he says should be taken with a grain of salt. I don't know if he's a con artist, high as a kite, or bats**t insane, but he not only lies about AT LEAST half of the games features, and then craps all over the game a few months after release. Oh good grief, the thing about the horse.... really? How about let's drop a few gimmicks and actually get our game straight first, mmm?
I think Peter needs a very long vacation. Besides we want new games from this guy, not for him to be beating a dead horse!
Maybe if the guy spent less time looking up at the ceiling and espousing the Mechanics of his game's he could take the time to actually play one and find out why people are getting less and less enthusiastic with the products he releases. Yer reaching for the stars buddy, but your gonna need a bigger stick and ALOT more imagination, least that's my opinion likely to be as flawed as anything else in the Universe.
Oh, Molyneux, you silly, lovable, overpromising goose. That's it, I'm taking preorders: "Peter Molyneux promised me the world and all I got was this damn T-Shirt!"
Fool me once with Fable 2, shame on you. Fool me twice with Fable 3, shame on me...Fool me thrice with Fable Journey doesn't freaking happen! lol
tbh i think fable 1 was good and fable 2 was the best however i blame microsoft fo fable 3s rushedness i mean microsoft already had halo reach coming out it thew 2nd half of the year they didnt need another exclusive they saw that with gow3 but not with fable they shouldve brought it back 6 months minimum 1 year max it just wouldve of made the game that much better and also guys stop hating this game until a proper hands-on comes out
i wonder how movement will be handled without a controller.... also, i want to play with milo. that didn't sound right...
Peter M is a fantastic designer, he has alot of potential but he just needs to learn what he's doing wrong... i mean fable 1 was a game that changed gaming forever (specificaly rpg's), he needs to leave fable alone and try something different and maybe come back to it after he's had abit more experience in the REAL WORLD... hes had his head stuck in the sands of Albion for to long
I really don't know what to say that has not already been said. It is very surreal to hear someone talk to you about how they just invented sliced bread.
This guy completely lost his touch with reality,he thinks all his games are revolutionary masterpieces, but in the end they are just average,or in this case most likely well bellow average.Once he made revolutionary games, but now they are just average and filled with empty promises. He should really open his eyes.
Thid was the worst idea, the franchise was losing a little quality but it was still a good franchise, now they are done completely ruinning it.
Haha for a minute there I think he even convinced himself this game wasn't going to suck, word of advice Pete, we have heard it all before and this time we will not be fooled.....you are the weakest link.....goodbye.
I'm getting kinda sick of Peter M. always speaking like he's going to revolutionize games. The Fable series is enjoyable, but lets face it. They're all the same. He needs to just stop. Shut up, old man. You're done.
Screw you Jacks packs ad! You SUCK, and you, stupid B*tch behind the counter! You can't act!!!!
Let me know how it ends Peter! Seriously I dont mind! Anything else to see you talk again!
