if I buy the game of the year edition used, if i can, will i still be abel to access all the expansion packs?

if you get the expansion packs, do you get to keep going even after you die at the end? how does that work?????

I'm not completely sure what you mean, if you are talking about those stand-alone expansion discs, and you have Operation Anchorage, The Piitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta, you won't need the GOTY edition, because it comes with all of those and the main game. If you only have 1 or 2 of them, then yeah you will be able to keep playing them, you just won't have to download whichever ones you have again.
With Broken Steel it adds more quests after the completion of the original ending at the Jefferson Memorial.

If you buy the game of the year edition even used, yeah you can use all the DLC.
And you can continue the game.

From what I heard Broken Steel begins after the storyline so there IS a continuation but my guess is only until you complete Broken Steel.
The GOTY edition comes with a second disc which installs all expansions rather than download codes so technically you could trade it amongst your friends and they could ALL install the expansions. I LOVE that way of doing it but no doubt they'll rise up eventually and ship it with codes instead.

If you sacrifice yourself at the end of the main quest line, you cannot continue.

If you have broken steel the game never ends, even if you sacrifice yourself or have elder Lyons daughter go in , you wake up in the citadel 2 weeks later and talk to elder Lyons I have always sacrificed myself and the game always goes on then it adds Afew quests even after finishing the quest the game doesn't end you can just roam around or finish quest you didn't do before Finnishing the main one

^correct, no matter what ending you choose the game will continue if you have broken steel or the goty.
also, you might need to start a new character and advance until you can manually save, then all of your non-goty saves will suddenly be available to load. at least that's how it was for my ps3 goty.
and some of the DLC is really laggy once your save gets big, try and do BS as soon as possible because once your save is over 12 mb it's lag/freeze city at edwards' airforce base.
