Today was the last day of the Tokyo Game Show so I got up early and ran in before they opened the door to the mob of people that were waiting outside. I was able to get some pictures of some of the cooler booths and went back later to get some pictures. I didn't see as many cosplayers today, but it's been four days of craziness and my feet hurt so I didn't look very hard.

SEGA booth was pretty awesome. Mostly because of all the lights.

Call me cynical, but I don't think any game over the last 30 years has adequately captured the fun, the frivolity, and the simple joy of throwing your feces at other people and animals until they die. Well my friends, our long wait for such a game is finally over. Allow me to introduce you to... a game whose title I can't say.

A dragon with a diaper. What an age we live in.Let's see, it's a two word title, with the second word being War. The first word is a commonly used slang term starting with the letter S for, umm, poo. So S*** War is a mobile game from Taiwanese company Goldrock, which had a small booth tucked away in one corner of the TGS floor. It's a game whose entire premise is neatly encapsulated in its title--basically, you shoot out your crap at opponents until they die. Simple.

Prepare for battle. And bring plenty of towels.
The hands-on demo we played (and I still feel the urge to wash my hands hours after the event) let you choose from three characters--a human, an elephant, and a dragon, all of whom are wearing diapers. Gameplay is pretty simple--it's a top-down view, where you walk around using your phone's D-pad and fire from your rear using whatever passes as an enter button for your particular phone. You'll encounter other animals and people on the field, with bigger creatures needing more hits to go down. You'll also come across power-ups once in while--one we found looked to be some sort of curry pot, which made your, ummm, rate of fire, increase significantly.
And no, this is not a joke. S*** War is already out in Goldrock's home territory of Taiwan. -

This trip has been a blast so far, but it's also been extremely busy. I haven't had a lot of time to take pictures and tomorrow is the last day of TGS. I'm going to try to hit the show floor and see how far I get. But in the meantime, here's what we've been eating because food is important. I also had whale for the first time. Tastes like beef jerky.

I think our entire team has eaten here at least 3 times.

Get ready for some awesome TGS video

The first two days of TGS were spent scurrying from appointment to appointment and hitting the show floor booths to find material to write about. Today was the third day, and with most of the booths picked clean, we decided to have some fun with our video segments. We went around the show floor causing a complete ruckus, often making as much idiots of ourselves as any ridiculous cosplayers. And in Brian's case, he even trumped many of those cosplayers with this awesome/frightening attempt at dressing as Stitch from the Disney film Lilo & Stitch, a movie that managed to become a sensation in Japan despite achieving an average reception in the States. Here's a sneak peak at the video segment:

You won't want to miss this one. Keep your eyes on the TGS 2008 videos page.
