Whoa... Looks like Idra's been pumping some iron and grew a beard. I guess the nerd jokes are no longer applicable? : ))
Shame to blizzard... thats all i have to say.
100.000 only when they earn 130Millions from wow subs alone when RIOT and VALVE were gaving like 1M+++prizes for League of Legends and Dota 2.
Pfff... Greedy blizzy bastards :)
@AzatiS You know, there may be perfectly reasonable explanations as to why Blizzard doesn't offer more than 100k for the grand prize in these tournaments... Madkings (below) makes sense when he compares how spread out Blizzard is in comparison to a company like Riot... But I totally agree with you with regards to how lame a 100k grand prize is. It is kind of embarrassing when the highest amount of money that you can earn in a Starcraft tournament (the most popular esport on earth!) is a mere $100,000. I mean, you've got a significantly higher chance of earning 100 grand a year by having a standard career than you've got being a pro Starcraft player...
@AzatiS Thank you! This is the growth we want! And i totally disagree with you, yes the other prizes were bigger, but the fact that you can complain about $100,000! is freaking insane. And Blizzard is not doing as much as Riot, no, but Riot has 1 game and spends 100% of their resources into that game. Blizzard can put in more money, but it is much more important that they are helping the other companies (MLG, DH, IEM and the rest who took care of broadcasting all the qualifiers and regional finals). And that is something that Valve still doesn't do.
On another note: IDRA!! The Leather Gracket is back! Hope he throws it down in day 2!!
Can't wait and can't forget to mention Grubby who is probably going to get mobbed in China! Also 100k is not too little by any means. Seriously we are done with this lol v sc2 it's just silly
100,000 is too few, when riot gives one million(200,000 per player) .blizzard cant be cheap if she wants to keep the pros playing and not migrating to lol(a lot have already left)
@Hate_Squad Well, to be fair this is their first year :PI wouldn't doubt it will be higher next year
