Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Picus Communications

Things are quiet in Picus--too quiet for it not to be a trap--however, this does leave you free to hack the office computers for free experience, credits, and items. For some reason there are no stores during your shore leave at Montreal, so managing your goodies along with everything pilfered from China will take some juggling.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Once your satisfied with your five figured discounts, head to Eliza's office to confront the TV personality. After a cutscene, the alarm will sound. It's best to hide inside one of the nearby ducts, as nearly ten guards will storm the office within 15 seconds. Continue moving through the ventilation system to either stay away or confuse the Tyrant mercenaries.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Return to the main office and down to the lower level. Either sneak behind the desks on the left side of the room or kill each enemy from cover. The large number of enemies tend to cluster, leaving them vulnerable to grenades and heavy rifle fire. Regardless, your goal is the next room down the hall.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

The entrance to this room is guarded by a security camera and a lone guard. Carefully crawl passed the camera's view or hack the system. Use a takedown on the single guard and move towards the elevator shaft. The Icarus landing will allow you to drop down and acquire some extra goodies at the bottom of the shaft. Unfortunately there isn't a means of getting climbing back up, so you'll need to go through the ducts and up a few ladders to reach the second floor.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

There are another five Tyrants patrolling the next room: four on the ground level and another up the stairs. One of these enemies is a deadly heavy rifleman who can take a few headshots before going down. As with the Belltower heavies, take out this large Tyrant with an instant takedown. Once enough of the area is clear, enter the room marked "Funicular". Hack through the next door and take the stairs down to Zone 6.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Two Tyrant guards will be patrolling the area, however there are plenty of rooms and alcoves to duck into to avoid detection. You can also use these rooms to hide bodies if you choose to use takedowns. Head towards the objective marker to reach two more guards and an auto turret. If you have the hacking skill, sneak to the computer on the left take control of the turret so that it kills the guards for you.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Grab the ammo and mines in this room and hit the switch for the elevator. The lift is on the bottom floor, so it will take a good amount of time before it reaches you. In this time another four guards will emerge. Quickly hide near the elevator and get ready to either fire back or flee when the elevator door opens. Enjoy the ride down and you'll emerge at the Illuminati HQ.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Two guards, two robots, a camera, and tripwires are blocking your path forward. The terminal for the lasers is only level one, so hacking it will be easy no matter your skill. However, to get at the console unnoticed you'll need to stun or kill at least one of the guards. Avoid or destroy the robot on the first floor and loot the weapons on the room to the left.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Even if the remaining guards spot you or are alerted, they won't bother opening the glass doors blocking their line of fire. This can be used to your advantage by baiting them at the door, but instead of charging, head through the duct on the left. Travel into the next room and kill or takedown the Tyrants that are still transfixed on the entrance.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Once ready, follow the objective marker to the sub level and detonate the mines adorning the walls. On this floor is a robot and heavy. Like before, a takedown is an easy way of dealing with the tougher humans. You can also hack control of the robot and turn it on the Tyrant. Once you've cleared your current foes, continue on to the main computer room. Stop inside the supply room on the left to grab a heavy rifle and a huge amount of ammo. Once primed, head to the computer room for a boss fight.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

Yelena is packing two machine pistols, a cloaking system, and can slide attack. If you haven't already, upgrade your skin augmentations to lower damage and avoid electric shocks. Arm upgrades to lower recoil and tighten sights will also be a great asset. It's recommended that you use a rapid fire weapon--the rifle, heavy rifle, or machine pistol are all decent choices. Your enemy moves a little too quickly for cover, so keep on your toes and circle around the walls to avoid fire. Eliza will also try to provide you with intel about Yelena's location.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Walkthrough

As for the fight itself, you may notice that floor is covered with water. This will not only allow you to see Yelena's footsteps, but can be used for a damage blast (Though you might hurt yourself if you lack the correct augmentations). If you or your enemy cause enough damage to the computers, they will explode with great force and electrify the floor. If you time it right, this environmental hazard is a great means of dealing damage.

Once the high ranking Tyrant is dead, stock up on weapons and ammo inside the room's lockers. When finished resupplying, head to the helipad and Malik will bring you back home.

I'm so glad they got rid of the pdf guides. The format was always so disappointing, and somehow the guides were less helpful that their html counterparts.

ANYONE KNOW THE CODE TO GET INTO THE ARMORY IN THE PICUS SUB BASEMENT?

"... have just searched Radford's locker after taking the Suits out with my silenced pistol.  I have grabbed the pictures from the safe and interogated the computer there, as well as read the Ebook.

When I go to leave the lockup the game is telling me there's more photos to find in the lockup.  I can't find anything else.  Is this a glitch, or do I have to come back later or something?"

Never mind.  I have solved it.  There were five emails on the computer in the lockup. I had missed the last one that was off the bottom of the screen.  Once I had read this the game updated and I'm now on my way again.

My thanks to Maf17.  Using the Typhoon (plus the EMP protection upgrade) did the trick for me too.  I think the EMP protection was the thing that did it for me though. She seemed impotent against this and I may well have been able to take my time and tickle her to death if I wanted to.

Anyway, now have just searched Radford's locker after taking the Suits out with my silenced pistol.  I have grabbed the pictures from the safe and interogated the computer there, as well as read the Ebook.

Did anyone ever find out why they dropped the PDF guides?

I thought there was an Achievement where you let Doctor Isaias Sandoval commit suicide? I'm not sure if it was on the Xbox or PC version.

There was one other Question I have, as in the Banner Above where it says walk through, it shows Jensen wearing a helmet of sort, I think I saw in a preview trailer as well. Yet in game that is never an option, unless it was dropped from the game during development? Or could that be a hint for the next Deus Ex?

@Dremun If you have completed all the sidequests ie: Lesser Evils, Motherly Ties and Cloak and Daggers then just ignore the warning and board the helo/VTOL. If you have started these sidequests but have not finished, then they will be cancelled like it said when you continue to Hengsha. If you haven't started any of the sidequests, you can choose to stay in Detroit and complete them first before moving on to Hengsha, or you can just move onto Hengsha. The warning message will always appear before you move onto Hengsha no matter what.

 @jamesybong

Thank you for that Info, it is much appreciated, I hit delete on my post in error, and I just got on to the helo/Vtol and got no warning messages and the side quests that I had were showing up as completed when I looked at my quest logs. And I started my second play through on the hardest setting, it kinda seems like it's easier, but i will find out when I crash land in China on the second trip there :)

There's one more sidequest in Hengsha Part 2. To activate it you must talk to a doctor when you go to the LIMB clinic to change your chip.

None of the bosses are hard if you choose weapons for tactics not for style. Also remember A.I is always stupid so they fall for anything and never learn. I chose to stock up on prox mines to begin with because I foresaw their potential. All you have to do is hug a wall and keep tossing the mines around the corners. First tactic I tried and since it worked so well I never attempted anything else. Flashbang to stun, gas to stun and damage and Explosive to damage. EMP are a waste on Bosses, but great for bots. I knocked out only few characters and only killed the bosses. It was so much easier just slip by everyone. I suppose you could go homocidal for fun but it doesn't seem necessary. Doing so just removes the ambieance and takes more time and inventory space for weapons. Played the game several times and haven't used most of the weapons beyond test firing, so I don't bother carrying anything other than the Tranq rifle, Tazer, revolver & shotgun.

Yelena is easy. Typhoon her at close range when she uncloaks in front of you, that damages her a lot, then she goes down with one blast of heavy rifle.

It`s a Bummer that the guides are NOT PDF files anymore. Gamepressure.com has free PDF guides for download that are very Beautiful as well.I like PDF files because they work GREAT with a Kindle device.A nice hand-held Guide device for your Lap.

I concur with other users. Why have the PDF guide stopped? It's nice to have the PDF guide itself. It's easier to find the info I need via a search, etc. Please bring them back.

I have been a Total Access subscriber for 9 years and 5 months...and I agree completely with ngadd the previous poster!!! One of the major reasons I joined was to get the .pdf files of your walkthroughs. How about continuing that policy or at least give us a good explination as to why it has been ended. That way I can come to a reasoned decision when renewall time comes around again.

Why isn't this guide (nor any other recent guide) downloadable any more ? Not even for longstanging Gamespot subscribers such as myself ? I've used loads of them over the years, and it's nice to have a printed copy to hand without having to go online all the time....

to become invisible, you need to invest in the cloak augmentation, then the d-pad button is in the upper right .i believe it is the down button.this is all for ps3. Also Yalena was cake walk. just run around the room and use the heavy rifle to shoot the computers to shock her then burn her down. No fuss, no muss.

Fursnake
Fursnake

The Yelena fight was pretty easy, toss a frag mine right in front of you as soon as the fight starts and move quickly to the left or right. The frag mine will stun her and then shoot away with a long range weapon and toss a couple more frag mines at her location. Takes about 10-20 seconds to kill her this way after stunning her with the first frag mine.

logan_the_blah
logan_the_blah

I got lucky with Yelena. Ended up finding a glitch. First I hit her with the stun gun then ran up to her and did the 'kill' takedown. She of course counters this bringing you close to death but because she is supposed to be stunned the game got confused and stuck her in place. I had a lot of fun shooting her in the head with my 10mm pistol knowing she couldn't do anything about it. About 10 shots later she died and I was on my way :P

Need extra cash? Put a police officer to sleep through takedowns or tranquilizer rifle, then pick up the weapon, go to the weapon store and sell it, repeat process...

craneman3299

Yelena was extremely easy. Just let her charge , then hit her with the stun gun and took out my handy dandy shot gun and let her have it. Did that 3 or 4 times and that was a wrap.

This is a pretty decent guide, however I think the jump ability is useless if you have heavy lifting as you can usually stack items to get to higher areas.

Hengsha 2 has at least 1 more sidequest, - Talion A.D. Given to you by a Dr. at the Limb Clinic, and consisting in finding the whereabouts of a former patient from the military that has gone awire, called Zelazny.

In case anyone wants an extra praxis, you can kill the barman downstairs in the hive and you'll find one on him when you search. I went on a mad killing spree and murdered everyone in the hive, went out the front door and the bouncer still wanted to charge me to get back in :-(

@rabksaj I didn't think I would like purely stealth based games so avoided Splinter Cell. But after playing as a stealth character on my second playthrough of DE:HR I thought I'd give the first SC a go and I liked it so much I've just bought the rest.

JustClient
JustClient

I don't understand people complains about the fact that if you play "stealth" it is hard to kill bosses. Not really. If you play "stealth"... well continue doing it during the boss fight da... That is how I took out Barret: After cutscene throw flash grenade. It will give you time to get to the stash with shotgun and EMP grenade. After flash effect passes he doesn't know where you are and most likely will move to the corner where you stand in the beginning. After that I waited until he turned facing wall, through EMP granade and the red barrel which is in the centre of the room. Then he dropped 3 grandees under his own feet. Another? EMP + 1-2 shotgun head shots and that was it. PS He never made a shot to my side...

rabksaj

Nothing beats the good old stealth games of splinter cell. you have real cool gadgets such as noise distracter. sticky diversion camera.etc etc.

that boss strat for yelena is quite possibly the dumbest design I have seen in a game in years. Even with augs. So stupid. Not very clever at all.

The game guide is also missing one little side quest called Talion A.D. which you can get from a doctor by visiting the limb clinic in hengsha the second time.

@godiskingofall, Well I can't speak for later bosses yet, but you're right about how the first 2 pretty much went. I'm actually quite surprised how fast I took out that chick Yelena. She tagged me good the first couple of tries, but then I actually used the most ingenious weapon of all....I opened up a few cans of Typhoon whoop-ass on her w/ about dozen rounds or so off my Machine pistol (modded, of course) & that was a wrap. I actually just let her take herself out of hiding a then once she came running' up on me like a damn fool, I let have it, lol. Quick Tip: if you can go ahead and max out Typhoon before the fight do it--the more power the Typhoon blast the quicker you'll take her out. Damn people wasn't lying when they said her fight was actually breeze. I caught waaay more headbanging hell w/ Barrett....

GOTY. No doubt. Damn it, in that room when the hostages have been held, I just sneaked pass it since I had no more tranquilizer rounds, which I wasted on patrols in the facility entrance since I though they could actually move to other areas and complicate my objective further, but no, they were. Well. Patrolling THAT area, which I easily passed trough that ventilation duct. I could use some takedowns, yeah, but I would be easily spotted and I was trying to finalize the game withouth being spotted, alarming systems, or killing anyone a single time. Lots of achievments, huh? Yeah. I'm already in China and so far my tasks are going well. But now that I've seen that I could have saved the hostages and I wouldn't see the final hostage, which I save suceesfly, crying.

"The Seaport is the point of no return. Not only are you about to say bye to China, this is one of the last chances to purchase items, weapons, and praxis." This is not true - there is a Limb-clinic in Panchea...for us Praxis addicts :)

If you have the Grenade Launcher, all boss fights become easy. And save up for electrical resistance for the final boss fight!

lol i find deus ex boss fights ridiculously easy except for the first one. what i did for Yelena was dodge as much of her first attack as possible. after her first attack she cloaked to go charge. all i did was turn on smart vision , find her shoot her twice with my revolver (with explosive round add on) when she had her back to me then just when she's about to charge at me , shoot the power source thing ( i have max dermal armour ) causing her to freeze , then shoot her 2 or 3 times in the head done.
