Chris Watters and Maxwell McGee show you how to make it through missions without killing enemies or alerting them to your presence.
@Chris_Watters In mission 7 , do you know why the area to get to Granny Rags is barred. I see in the walkthrough that upon entering that area there is a guy sitting on the floor and there are no bars covering the entrance. In my play neither is the case and I see no way to remove the bars to get there and gate is already open.
Haha! Thanks guys. Just finished the play through today and got the achievements. Great guide and I loved your banter. It was very amusing. Had me in stitches in some places. ;) Nice work in finding the way.
I followed this mission exactly as the guide said but still got a kill in the end stats. I'm still wondering where it could have occurred.
@Joutja If a body comes to harm it can count as a kill. I mistakenly dropped a body into water once and had another get found by rats so I didn't get credit for no kills in a mission.
I found I had more fun just playing without any regards towards achievements and just did what I want. Generally stealthy but it isn't the end of the world if I am caught or kill.
Mission 7, anyone know why the area to get to Granny Rags is barred. I see in the walk through that upon entering that area there is a guy sitting on the floor and there are no bars covering the entrance. In my play neither is the case and I see no way to remove the bars to get there.
Low Chaos play.
Is there a way to see your stats in the middle of a mission? I just finished Mission 2 and found out that I had killed 1 hostile. I know I didn't actually attack and kill anyone so it must be one of those "left the guy where rats could get him" kinda things. I just wish I knew when it happened so I wouldn't have to do the whole damn thing over again. Also, when it comes to detection, does it only count if the symbol above the guy's head goes to red, or if they even hear you and come towards you to investigate?
Ok, so. I played through everything like these guys said but I, and a large proportion of the community it seems, did not receive the Clean Hands and Ghost Achievements. Question; Does knocking Granny rags out in mission seven count as kill even though the game says it doesnt? Does replaying a mission instead of doing it the one way through count anyway as I had replayed a mission or two like replaying mission 5 and 6 when I got to Dunwall Tower and didn't have the Dunwall Master key.
This article will not work for me. I satisfy myself in killing anyone who stand against my way. Most of the action games made are intended for bloodshed, so let's go on that direction. Lol!
I was looking at the ending for High Chaos and I noticed a difference between mine and the one you guys have. I want to spoil it for anyone though, but it involves the boat man.
I polling around .... do you find this game is easy?I mean i play on the harderst difficulty and still find it too easy ... so i'm so immersed in the game as i find it more like a movie than game played in the hardest settings .... What you tihnk about ? DO you find this game is easy too ?
@virus10101 If you are playing stealthy then the difficulty doesn't change much. On Easy you are able to choke enemies while standing. Making it harder only makes you take more damage from what I have found.
I played that crappy game on the hardest difficulty ... with no challenge... i mean i tried the super stealth mode ... then i went for the frontal attack(with a my char built for stealth) ... WITH NO DIFFICULTY ON THE HARDEST MODE !!!
That game is crap no challenge, meaningless story, DUMB AI , poor controls ... no man that game is just for dumb-kids ..
@virus10101 @Toysoldier34 Sorry you wasted your time playing such a crappy game. Maybe you should step back and ask yourself why you invested so much time into such a crappy game that was so horrible.
While you are busy with that everyone else is enjoying one of the best games from last year.
With the way you type and talk I would assume based on the logic you used at the end of this game sounds like it would be a perfect fit for you. Grow up, no one takes your opinion seriously when you portray it like this.
For you to rate such a crappy game a 7 you must be easily impressed, or you just exaggerate every point you try to make.
This was a fun watch :) I played my own low-chaos playthrough already, so it was interesting seeing how somebody else played it (even if they did a better job than me at not being detected lol).
The commentary was a blast, I hope to see you two doing future playthrough series together!
Anyone know whether, in order to get the achiev for not killing, you can kill the teleporting dudes at the beginning before they kill the chick?
@unaligned You actually don't kill them, as you hit them, they slowly dissolve, which is what they do when they teleport, so they actually dodge your attack and teleports away.
The answer is: You can do whatever you like to fend them off, they don't count as kills ;)
I'm playing this title in very hard mode "pc version" .... i must say it's too easy.
But now i will try the "no kills" (hopefully even the no warn) ... just because ... well it's too damn easy even in hard mode.
Quite a good game btw... but i feel the consoled-dumb game behind every action... like i'm facing a guard that can clearly see me in open space totally lighted marketsquare .... and he does ignore because it's vision range is so close... well i think that splinter cell have something to say about that ....
We NEED better games.
@virus10101 I know you have this overwhelming urge to blame everything on the little pissant mortals who dare besmirch your glorious computer games with their console filth, but seriously, shut the fuck up.
@Greyfeld dear mate this plase is for sharing opinions and ideas, if have nothing to say i think it's you that need to shut up.
It's a fact that a console-pad controller is not good for fps.. and dishonored is basically an fps. So to make the game playable on console you need an easier game just because you cannot control the character so much. On the other side mouse+keyboard will give you the total control of the char during the game so games can be better.
Character control is everything and consoles needs different and easier games unless you wont be able to play the game, you canno jump+strafe+aim and headshoot while avoiding obstacles and enemies fire ... this you can do with keyboar+mouse.
In addiction today's trend is to make games that loolks likes interactive movies. And i do not like this i think that game must be a game not an interactive movie wher i just hit option 1,2 or 3 then watch a cinematic.
I think that on very hard mode that game must have been hard to face. But that is not. Even on hard mode i cans easily complete maps with some darts and blinking around undetected. As the enemies view is very short.
If you feel bad about my console hate, you should guess why... console-fan boys always are as they cannot face the fact that a pc gamer need better challenges.
I suggest you to try playing some old good pc games starting from the first unreal, and in this case(just to compare) the first splinter cell.
Btw there are even more things that makes this game easy such as the fast mana-regen or the health recover....
To concolude you must admit that console gaming totally changed tha games.. and made them worser and worser and easier and easier every year. Just go play some Good Old Game and you will realize that.
try the first unreal, or quake1/2,doom2/3, or serious sam or the first splinter cell (you have tons of good games to try)and so on... obviously on a pc. i played both console and pc I must say that i totally prefere pc. Have you ever played a good game on a pc?
In need of helpful opinion: I would, ultimately, like to play through without killing anyone, but should I first play through without that mindset (ie, killing people) so as to get a "lay of the land"? Or does it not matter?
@forcefactor13 What I did was, play casually, be flexible and take each situation as you face them, so don't start your first playthrough with a mindset of no kill and no detection, you will ruin the smooth experience when you constantly have to reload etc. Just go with the flow and accept that you might have to kill a guy or two, or cause some mayhem here and there, it will make your first playthrough feel smooth and elegant! Also, explore, read notes and books, do all the sidequests etc. it gives off alot of depth really!
@Barrakas21 The fun comes in the extra challenge.
@Barrakas21 Its actually really satisfying to go the whole way and not kill a single person, but thats just me haha
I like this game, but now im just about pissed. I just played the game straight through for the 5th time, and the only thing I unlocked was Shadow achievement. I didnt kill anyone, nor was I detected, as my mission stats all confirm. I didnt even touch granny's cameo, and the weepers were sleep darted, then moved to where rats would not get them. Still no Clean Hands or Specter. This is BS.
@ArcherSR40 Stupid question, but you aren't playing the mission by "Replay Mission" right? you're actually playing from a new game and go straight through? If so, then I understand the frustration.
Yes, and even in the prologue, I let the assasins go, If you just hold the right button down to block their attacks, they eventually leave and you dont have to kill them. Ive played the game 5 times in a row without killing anyone. Total BS. Why cant companies play the games before they put them out, and have someone play through and unlock every acheivement BEFORE the game is released? Awesome game, but thats like 3 days of my life im never getting back. Lesson learned.
@ArcherSR40 Damn.. Well I went through it on my third playthrough, and did get the achievements, both Shadow, Ghost and Clean Hands, even got the Flesh and Steel one too.I feel you bro, I would have gotten pissed as hell if I hadn't gotten then with the time I spent on it :/
@Chris_Watters and Maxwell- Thank you so much for this! - However I did not get the ghost + Clean hands achievement because of darting granny rags! =( Seems theres a bug everyone gets! - Thought you guys wanna know! (AMAZING walkthrough!)
It's so easy to do this game with no kills and getting undetected :P not being big headed... it just is :P
@IamNick2k11 Not if you're doing with only blink and doing it so on Very Hard ;) It takes some planning and some patience ;)
@Warful I have done it on Very Hard ;) but using only blink... it's possible, but boring ;)
@Warful Agreed :P
@IamNick2k11 didn't say it was impossible, I am currently at Mission 9 doing it, which is my 3rd playthrough. It is surely boring lol cause either you have to wait for that PERFECT moment to strike, or your patience get the better of you and you take a risk AND you FAIL and you RAGE AND AAAARGH!!!.. I mean.. *cough*..
how is this a no kill walktrough?? he almost knocked down everyone in the first mission. Am I wrong?? it's not possible to do this in the first mission??
@Kuribboh Knocking someone out doesn't count as a kill, they are simply unconcious. So choking em is "legal" in that term ;)
