Spartan Ops Interview
Looks like everybody is gonna continue to say its copying CoD and complain about it. Learn to adapt people. Stop bitching.
It is still early in competitive development, this game will be balanced to a fine point. Stop whittling away at early multiplayer videos they allowed us to see and how it can never compare to your favorite version (memories) of halo, and just accept the fact this will be another amazing gaming experience, regardless of change.
looks wonderful. 343, I'm impressed.Sadly however, I don't know how this will do on sales. Everyone seems to be pooping their pants since Bungies not making it, which is sad i know but doesn't mean this game will suck. Everything seems improved!
@BravelyRanAway Its not just you don't worry, they have recorded their audio with real gun shots and explosions from a trailer I saw. :D
And people said Halo 3 was too crazy, then Reach, now this, in the end, it was all good, but Halo 2 on the PC was by far the best.
Looks awesome, already pre-ordered. Love the grenade toss followed by the BR headshot finish. Maybe it's just me but the guns seem to sound better this time around. Forerunner vision looks very dominating though. It seems like a huge advantage so far.
That doesn't look like Halo to me. The speed of the game is all wrong. This and the new Metroid enemies really have me thinking this may be the first Halo game I don't play. No, let me rephrase that. I'm likely going to pass on this spuriously named game, as it clearly isn't really a Halo game.
@Atheosis Halo 2 was a giant leap forward from CE. Does that mean that wasn't a Halo game either...
@tomo90 This isn't a leap forward. This is a completely different game, both in the SP and MP. Bungie's lack of involvement is painfully obvious to me. They ratcheted up the game speed even though the slower pace has been one of the defining features of Halo MP since the very first game in the series. On top of that they are adding an enemy type into the game that looks like it was taken straight out of Metroid or some other Japanese action game. Honestly, everything I'm seeing tells me this is a Halo game in name only.
@Atheosis Yea looks better than halo 1-3. Have to buy it.
@Atheosis Nah, looks like Call of Duty to me. Then again, that started happening with Reach with the loadouts in general. Such a shame to see a titan in the shooter genre fall to its knees before another titan that is seriously becoming way too overrated. Guess that's what happens when a game gets new developers though. Still a shame.
@Rakshee Reach at least maintained the proper pacing. This looks like a completely different series. In fact, watching it I was reminded more of Unreal Tournament than Halo.
I think many of you need to convey your thoughts a little better regarding "pacing". Halo 3 was the epitome of slow to me. No sprint: I am a super soldier and I can't effing sprint?
what i didnt see was any special stuff like, jetpack, or any of the other abilities? are they not having that in this one? cause i could have sworn they were going to. also is no one else sad that duel wielding is gone, or is that just me?
I hope you can still play classic slayer. I don't mind the changes they have made as long as I still have the option of playing the classic halo experience.
I love that the BR is back. Totally speeds up the play again. The slow heavy feel of Reach became frustrating fast.
@tomo90 i completely agree, halo reach made me feel like i couldn't move near as fast, in halo 3 you could get on a role and the game would move very quickly, that just doesn't happen in halo reach.
forerunner vision seems it will be the new rocket launcher of every multiplayer game. i hope they balance it out
@SPuDl first of all there is a zoom and second of all the maps are not really big enough to utilize that. The gameplay is very fast and changing the zoom controls wouldnt eliminate grenade spam
MLG.... Ahahah, I'll just never get over the fact they actually consider themselves a sport... e-sports, ahahah.
How can you even call doing something that requires no real life skills a sports? That's just... ugh.
@supertom221 ill give you that its not a sport. but why the crap are you here if your just gonna make fun of it? and last time i checked hand eye coordination is a real life skill, it may not be as important but its still a skill
@supertom221 Sport is competition and fun.
What could you possibly have against people that enjoy playing video games competitively with others?
"Sport (or, in the United States, sports) is all forms of competitive physical activity which, through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical fitness and provide entertainment to participants."
Not physical, not a sport.

@JigglyWiggly_ Yes, but Hand eye coordination is one skill, that does not necessarily have anything to do with gaming. It's greatly developed through it, but it's not anything helpful outside gaming, and can be developed in other, real sports, at the same efficiency.
So they listened to the complainers about the battle rifle. Looks like things will go back to twitchy reaction gameplay instead of thinking and aiming. Everyone will start with a dmr or battle rifle and each duel will come down to who misses that one shot. No room for error, you are screwed. What made halo 3 unbalanced is, if you got too good with the battle rifle it made most other weapons obsolete. I see things going back to that, with no point in really using the other guns unless is special circumstances. And looking through walls? wow. Its nice that sprint is less costly, but now everyone can just panic and run away at the last minute, not having to pay for poor choices and mistakes.
@Azujin and isn't it the point to get good? I don't usually play games to get pwnd, but if I played against you I would totally stand idol to avoid complaints of doing/not doing anything.
@Azujin So, you are complaining about the person winning not missing that shot, and complaining about the person running away who did miss that shot...............Cool story bro.
@Azujin The twitchy BR gameplay and high skill bar is what attracted so many pros to Halo in the first place. The Reach DMR and bloom was designed to help noobs have more chances to be on the same level as pros - and guess what the pros ended up hating Reach because of that. Other weapons are still useful, but most of them are situational and its always been like that.
I agree, the forerunner vision is lame but hopefully that will be locked out in competitive matches.
Now it seems Halo is going back to its roots and I gotta say I'm looking forward to seeing 343 develop this game some more.
A game can require skill without forcing someone to use the exact same weapon/tactic every match to win. Halo 3 REQUIRED you to be good with the Battle Rifle if you wanted to be a decent player because most non-power weapons lacked the range or damage to compete.
It looks to me that Promethean vision offers a way to deal with campers without radically changing the gameplay. There are downsides to using it - it sounds like 343 knows what they're doing and at the very least, there will be many options of playlists.
if i had an Xbox i would definitely buy this but i don't so i will make do with metal gear solid 4 which is also amazing
@mike9876543210 Yeeaaah, I prefer the tradeoff the PS3 gives. MGS4 alone makes everything Xbox has void of any meaning.... Though I did enjoy HALO Reach. But to get a console for it? Ahahah, fuck no.
@mike9876543210 I liked this because you're just positive in general. I am not a fanboy, I have an Xbox, though believe me, I wish I could afford every other system (including handhelds).
Aside from the Forerunner vision this looks very promising. I'd rather have F vision than armor lock any day though.
