Portal 2 is a great game. The levels were hard enough that I couldn't figure them out straight away, but could still noticed the solution after 5-10 minutes. Games like Modern Warfare 3 couldn't hold a candle.

The Cold Boot
Floor 1
Move across the room and stand on the lift. Fire a portal below the laser and second portal above the laser sensor. The lift will raise and take you to the elevator.
Floor 2
Jump over the laser and place a portal on the ground. Place the other portal below the laser reflection cube behind the barrier to grab this object. Place the box in front of the laser to change its direction and point it at the laser node. Climb up the steps that form and place a portal on the ground of this level. Place a second portal below the cube to bring it up to your level. Place the cube on the red button to open the door to the elevator.
Floor 3
Place a portal next to you and another portal on the above level to reach the top. Now place one portal directly below the laser sensor node and the other one the right wall to catch the laser from the left wall. Grab the cube on this level and leap across the platform. Point the cube near the second node to redirect the laser. This will open the door to the elevator.
Floor 4
Place an orange portal on wall to the left and a blue one across the way in the nook on the left. Enter the portal and press the button here to gain a cube. Fire a blue portal across wall ahead to catch the laser. As long as you used the blue portal, the laser will reach through to the laser node. Grab the cube and ride the platform to the other end. Grab jump over the laser with the cube in your hands to avoid interrupting your ride. Place the cube on the button and enter the elevator to the next floor.
Floor 5
Step on the jump platform to wind up on the other end of the pit. Press the button here and it will release a cube in the center of the room. Use the jump platforms again to grab the cube in midair. Land back down at the switch platform and place the cube on the large red button, revealing the elevator.
Floor 6
Move straight down to the other end of the hall. Turn around and place portals on both of the tilted platforms. Take the jump platforms through the portals and arrive at the other side of the room. Press the button to release some junk and a cube that arrive at your location. Grab the sub before it falls (Or follow it below if you miss). Place a portal to the right wall and one above the switch pad. Drop the cube through the portal to open the door to the elevator.
Floor 7
Grab the cube ahead and place it to obstruct the laser. This will lower the lift to the next area. Place a portal below the cube and another one on the wall to free up the laser and restart the lift. Once reaching the top place an orange portal on the further tilted platform and a blue portal below the cube to bring it to your current level. Grab the cube and jump through the blue portal below. The momentum will be enough to bring you to the opposite ledge with a button pad. Leave the cube here and shoot another orange portal on the other tilted platform. Drop down through the blue portal and allow the speed to take you to the exit elevator.
Floor 8
Move right, through the grill. These barriers will destroy objects and disable any formed portals, so you'll need to work around these. Press the button on the left to release a reflection cube. Fire a blue portal through the small round opening and a blue portal behind you. Enter the portal and pick up the cube. Return to the other side with the reflector in hand and align it so that the laser hits the sensor. Head back through the grill and right again to reach the elevator to end the chapter.

Such a great game, the level design shows Valve's creativity. I wish companies like Infinity Ward would take a few hints while making mw3 and its levels. Modern Warfare 3 could use Valve's "touch", just look how great this and Team Fortress 2 is.
Brilliant game. Wish I had bought the first one before I played this one, but it's so good it doesn't matter. Excellent voice acting and brilliant puzzles - keep it up Valve!

@ icepop4who: If it's so easy and you don't need a guide, what are you doing here? Hmmmm.... Kind of strikes me as an 'I'm better than you guys statement to me'. The truth seems to be, I got stuck somewhere and needed a little nudge in the right direction.
I think this is a great game. but sometime u have to spend an hour on a single floor in the later levels because it gets a bit hard.but still a very good game
1 Like I just dont understand the point of listing the trophies if you are not showing how to get them step by step? I mean its a guide right?

lol this is the easiest puzzle game ever. As long as you're not ADD or something, you don't need a guide. Just take your time with it.
Who writes this stuff? It's "levers", not "leavers"! Portal is the bomb, tho' (GLaDOS made me say that)
I love this phreaking game. Right when I thought it was going to end, it keeps on going! I thought it was more of Portal 1, then it goes nuts! The levels are organic, believable and atmospheric. Look out for my review. Incredible game.
What kind of idiot would actually use a Portal walkthrough? Solving puzzles is literally the only thing to do in this game. It's like paying money to have to read and follow a guide.
Without photos can be as frustrating to understand as some parts of the game. Try the youtube hints if you are really stuck.
Didn't play the first one but am really enjoying this game!! Worth the money if you like brain teasers.
If you liked the first Portal, you will love this one.. it has a good story and about 7hours of pure puzzel thinking. Some stages where way to easy and some took me a while to figure out. I also loved the twists of the game. To all of you that have played the game i only say "Im in space!" It was great fun.. Thinking of buying the game for ps3 aswell..
@Maxxramman ... *gag* there are three words I bet no one on this planet EVER expected to hear in a sentence: "amazing" and "will ferrell." WOW! I'm intrigued by how stupid parts of this game make me feel at times. To help with that I went and bought the first one. STILL have no idea how or why i'm blasting holes in walls just to be tested by this badly auto-tuned android! HOPEFULLY there will be sometime soon in the game where the greater meaning is revealed (I'd settle for the point ; ) Its also a little strange that the character you are supposedly playing as is a female. Hmmm maybe this is how a female feels if she chooses to play a FPS, i.e. CoD. Interesting.
@Kos1c & @XsickGamerX10 - It's more than just a puzzle game. It has a great story behind it and it ties itself with the Half Life Universe. I think it's a great game. It's better to have played the first one before playing the second.
@XsickGamerX10 I didn't know much about this game, and i got it yesterday. The game is a huge puzzle game, it's great fun, just sadly it's not as long. I've already completed it, took about 4-6 hours to do. But still one of those titles worth checking out. An easy 9/10 for me.
There has been a lot of hype about this game so ive looked at some trailers and I just cant see what all the fuss is about and it looks quite boring. So i have preordered LA NOIRE. But please if u have the game tell me what is so good about it
@djball They are hardly holding your hand. It has happened to me that I had no clue where to go due to an obscure portal-friendly surface.
@bigkahunabuger portal 2 does not have a singleplayer section...only a game mode you can play by yourself...that shows gamestpot doesn't have a clue about games.
The achievement for the propulsion gel is "Stranger than Friction", not stranger than fiction, like the amazing movie with will Ferrell.
I would really discourage the use of a walkthrough for Portal 2. Its charm comes (at least partly) from the satisfaction of solving the puzzles, and being told what to do diminishes your experience of the game. I guess using one section if you're really, REALLY, stuck would be okay, but please go back and be sure that you need the help before seeking help.

I have Portal 2 and in my opionion it is to easy, I completed it in 7 Hours. The puzzles are good enought but there is only 1 way to solve a puzzle and it is easy to find the solution. The Story is realy great it has some realy good twists in it.
