Portal 2 Walkthrough

The Reunion

Floor 1

This floor introduces orange speed gel that will allow you to run quickly. In the first area place your orange portal below the dispenser tube and your blue portal on the small ceiling. Drop through your portals and land on the ledge. Face the wall on the right and move your blue portal on the lower wall. Hit the button next to you to send speed slime all over the ground. Next, replace the blue portal on the above ceiling. Drop back down and slide across the orange gel to reach the other side. Put your orange portal on the left wall and head in to wind up on the ledge again.

Put your blue portal below the dispenser and hit the switch to goo the second room. Run over the gel again and wind up in the last room. Set up your portals to grab the weighted cube and bring it back to the main room. Set the weighted cube on the button and fly to the upper levels. Place a portal on the floor below and one behind the slimed path. Head back through your portals and run at top speeds to reach the switch, opening the door. Head through two grills to arrive at the next test room.

This section has both blue and orange gel. Remember that each gel will overwrite one another. First fire a portal on the pillar to the left and the other portal under the orange gel dispenser. Let the orange gel loose to goo up most of the area with speed gel. Next put a portal under the blue gel dispenser and your other portal on the lone ceiling pad. Blue gel the far edge and speed jump to the catwalk ahead. Place your blue portal at the top of the pillar and your orange portal below. Face back towards the main area and place your orange portal to get back there. Last put your orange portal on this side of the pillar and run back through the gel. With the two portals in place you'll arrive at the exit elevator.

Floor 2

You'll once again have access to both orange and blue gel. However, most of the floor is grated, so gel will be un able to stick. Start off by placing your orange portal on the far right tilted wall and your blue portal under the blue gel tube. After the other incline is covered in blue gel, place your orange portal on the vertical wall just below its previous location. Now put your blue portal under the orange gel and allow the runway to become covered in speed gel. Enter the portals to arrive at the runway and place your blue portal on the tilted wall behind you. Move to the other edge of the orange goo and run through your portals; your placed orange and blue gels will be enough to catapult you all the way to the far off platform where a weighted cube rests.

From your current position place a portal back under the blue gel tube and you're second directly under the rotating platform controlled by the weighted switch. Once this is done switch your portals to allow access to the weighted switch on the far left. Leave the cube on this switch to rotate your now blue gel covered platform. Set you portals again to return to the runway area and place your blue portal on the straight wall. Once your blue is in place, look slightly above and to the left to spot another ramp and white wall. Shoot your orange portal at this wall and run through the orange gel covering the run way. The amount of speed and the rotated platform will be enough to jet you over to the exit elevator.

Floor 3

Place one portal on the catwalk to the left and another on any other wall. Head through the portal and passed the grill. Upon exiting, place a portal on along your current catwalk, and a second off high to the right near the "Pump Station Gamma" sign. Walk through your portal and into yet another grill. Enter the control room to release blue and orange gel, along with extra white paint. Place a portal near you and one back at the entrance to avoid the crushing pumps.

Place a portal on the now white covered ceiling to land on the broken catwalk. Jump down unto the spilled blue gel to arrive at the higher level and another grill. Place a blue portal on the right wall and run over the orange gel to reach the other end. Exit through the door on the right and place your orange portal on the tilted wall. Return to the previous room and run across the orange gel, into your blue portal, and out over the chasm. You'll arrive at Johnson's enrichment center. Enter the room on the right to release the locked door. Head passed the waiting area and up to the next floor.

This next area has a tube gushing white paint. Throw down two portals close to the tube to send the paint out of its pen and to the two large pillars on the left. Once either interior side of the pillars is covered with white paint, keep moving your portal up the pillars until pain covers every inch. Finally place on portal at the top of the right hand pillar to reach the top. Move over to the edge and place your orange portal on the tilted platform. Move to the other side of the pillar and place your blue platform directly below you. Jump down through the blue platform to be sped over to the catwalks where the exit to the next area awaits.

The next area is rather simple, but a tad long: keep making portals at higher levels from your own to reach the top. Eventually you'll reach a broken elevator. Place your blue portal on the floor and move over to the broken catwalk. Place your orange portal below and jump in. You'll land on a ledge to the right where you should replace your orange portal. Jump back down into the elevator to emerge through your next orange portal and quickly place a new blue portal on the tilted wall. As you fall back into your orange portal you'll arrive at the exit door.

Floor 4

Start off by placing your orange portal at the top of any of the four pillars and your blue portal at the bottom. Face the wall with the three large pipes and fire your orange portal on the tilted wall. Look over the edge and fire a blue portal and then leap down into it. You'll fly over to the second level where you some blue gel is dripping. Place your blue portal below this drop to pass the jump goo until the second diagonal floor. Place your blue portal down the hole below and drop down to wind up on the third floor. Here put your orange portal on the ground and leap back through your blue portal. As you emerge from your orange portal, fire your blue portal again to gain access to the fourth level. Move passed the grill ahead to reach a room with both types of gel and white paint.

Place one portal below the flowing white pain and another on the ceiling grate right over the tilted wall. Once this wall is painted, place your blue portal on the upper wall and your orange portal below the orange speed gel. Once the ground is covered place your orange portal on the tilted wall and use the gel to run through the portals, landing on the second floor. Place your orange portal below the white paint stream and your blue portal on the bare ground ahead. Once the roof is covered in white, place your blue portal on the ceiling and your orange portal under the blue gel drip. Return to the previous level and set your portals again to get to the second level. With your new blue jump gel in place, you'll be taken to the next floor.

Up here place your blue portal on the dripping white paint, and your orange portal up the top of the shaft to warp inside. From here walk to the other end and place your orange portal on the left tilted wall. This will cover the area with paint allowing you to place another blue portal at the top of the long shaft. Return to the small room and place your orange portal to reach inside the shaft. Walk all the way up to the large grate and fire a portal through the barrier. Next return to the lone white floor in the shaft and put another portal to enter the gel control room. Place a portal on the top catwalk and one below to transport to this broken rail. Once up top, move to the very edge and place one portal on the white paint to the far right. Look directly below and fire your other portal; leap down and use momentum to take you to the hatch override. Press the button and ride the new lift to the top.

Portal 2 is a great game. The levels were hard enough that I couldn't figure them out straight away, but could still noticed the solution after 5-10 minutes. Games like Modern Warfare 3 couldn't hold a candle.

Such a great game, the level design shows Valve's creativity. I wish companies like Infinity Ward would take a few hints while making mw3 and its levels. Modern Warfare 3 could use Valve's "touch", just look how great this and Team Fortress 2 is.

I only checked this to see how many chapters were in the game :P

Brilliant game. Wish I had bought the first one before I played this one, but it's so good it doesn't matter. Excellent voice acting and brilliant puzzles - keep it up Valve!

@ icepop4who: If it's so easy and you don't need a guide, what are you doing here? Hmmmm.... Kind of strikes me as an 'I'm better than you guys statement to me'. The truth seems to be, I got stuck somewhere and needed a little nudge in the right direction.

I think this is a great game. but sometime u have to spend an hour on a single floor in the later levels because it gets a bit hard.but still a very good game

I just dont understand the point of listing the trophies if you are not showing how to get them step by step? I mean its a guide right?

lol this is the easiest puzzle game ever. As long as you're not ADD or something, you don't need a guide. Just take your time with it.

Who writes this stuff? It's "levers", not "leavers"! Portal is the bomb, tho' (GLaDOS made me say that)

Pretty good guide, but for god's sake please learn the difference in "passed" and "past."

I love this phreaking game. Right when I thought it was going to end, it keeps on going! I thought it was more of Portal 1, then it goes nuts! The levels are organic, believable and atmospheric. Look out for my review. Incredible game.

What kind of idiot would actually use a Portal walkthrough? Solving puzzles is literally the only thing to do in this game. It's like paying money to have to read and follow a guide.

Without photos can be as frustrating to understand as some parts of the game. Try the youtube hints if you are really stuck.

If you liked the first Portal, you will love this one.. it has a good story and about 7hours of pure puzzel thinking. Some stages where way to easy and some took me a while to figure out. I also loved the twists of the game. To all of you that have played the game i only say "Im in space!" It was great fun.. Thinking of buying the game for ps3 aswell..

@Maxxramman ... *gag* there are three words I bet no one on this planet EVER expected to hear in a sentence: "amazing" and "will ferrell." WOW! I'm intrigued by how stupid parts of this game make me feel at times. To help with that I went and bought the first one. STILL have no idea how or why i'm blasting holes in walls just to be tested by this badly auto-tuned android! HOPEFULLY there will be sometime soon in the game where the greater meaning is revealed (I'd settle for the point ; ) Its also a little strange that the character you are supposedly playing as is a female. Hmmm maybe this is how a female feels if she chooses to play a FPS, i.e. CoD. Interesting.

@Kos1c & @XsickGamerX10 - It's more than just a puzzle game. It has a great story behind it and it ties itself with the Half Life Universe. I think it's a great game. It's better to have played the first one before playing the second.

@XsickGamerX10 I didn't know much about this game, and i got it yesterday. The game is a huge puzzle game, it's great fun, just sadly it's not as long. I've already completed it, took about 4-6 hours to do. But still one of those titles worth checking out. An easy 9/10 for me.

@djball They are hardly holding your hand. It has happened to me that I had no clue where to go due to an obscure portal-friendly surface.

@bigkahunabuger portal 2 does not have a singleplayer section...only a game mode you can play by yourself...that shows gamestpot doesn't have a clue about games.

The achievement for the propulsion gel is "Stranger than Friction", not stranger than fiction, like the amazing movie with will Ferrell.

psychowithabow

I would really discourage the use of a walkthrough for Portal 2. Its charm comes (at least partly) from the satisfaction of solving the puzzles, and being told what to do diminishes your experience of the game. I guess using one section if you're really, REALLY, stuck would be okay, but please go back and be sure that you need the help before seeking help.

I have Portal 2 and in my opionion it is to easy, I completed it in 7 Hours. The puzzles are good enought but there is only 1 way to solve a puzzle and it is easy to find the solution. The Story is realy great it has some realy good twists in it.
