Mission 3--Gohda Castle

Lord Gohda nods quietly as you report to him regarding the three jewels that Echigoya spoke of. However, he makes no mention of it and asks you to forget the incident and the conversation. A few months later, a treacherous incident occurs. Hamada, one of Lord Gohda's men, takes Lord Gohda hostage and demands that the Jewel of Virtue be brought to him. Timed with Hamada's acts of treason, the mysterious band of ninjas attacks the castle and takes over every floor. You must hurry to rescue Lord Gohda and dispose of the traitor.

Assassinate the Traitor Hamada!

Objectives: Use the poison rice to lure enemies. Avoid simultaneous confrontations. Crawl into openings by crouching and moving forward.

There are several ways into the castle. The easiest bypasses a lot of ninjas. From the start position, stick to the right and maneuver through the corridors. Peer around each corner and beware of the patrolling ninjas. Continue up the right side of the area and enter a room on the right. Go to the back corner of this room (grab the grenade on the way) to find a secret passage into the castle. You could also search the nearby rooms and grab items, such as a smoke bomb.

If you choose not to use the secret route, prepare for plenty of ninja encounters. Another route would be to move forward from your start position. Follow the corridor right then left and into a larger clearing with a tree and a recess below. Drop down into the recess and crawl underneath the structure. Remain ducked when you pop out on the other side. Terminate the nearby guard carefully, grab the health power-up, and then enter through the unlocked door.
