Mission 6--Amagai Castle

Caught by Kimaira, you wake up in a cage. As you prepare for your escape, the guard in front of you suddenly shrieks in pain. Tesshu had followed Kimaira there. After seeing that you can escape by yourself, Tesshu tells you that Zennosuke mentioned a secret jewel being hidden in the eye of the statue in the Buddha temple. Then Tesshu disappears.

Escape From Amagai Castle!

Objectives: Beware of traps. Press your back against walls to open trap doors. Use haste to escape.

The mission opens with a boss encounter. You must battle a mad inventor known as Maihime, who is clothed in a vest of wooden armor. Beware of the enemy's spin attack. Don't get trapped in a corner. Dish out a five-hit combination, then back away with a quick jump. The good news is that you'll have plenty of health power-ups and ninja rebirths (if available from the item selection screen) to survive the encounter; however, keep in mind that you have an entire mission to complete!

In fact, you must complete the mission in less than 20 minutes. After defeating Maihime, Kimaira sets off a timer that will release poisonous fumes throughout the castle. You must escape the castle within the time limit to survive. If you played Rikimaru's castle mission, then you know the layout--you're essentially following Rikimaru's route in reverse. The enemies within the castle aren't human; they're made of wood. Be especially careful around the smaller mechanical foes--don't get trapped by their spin attack, and don't remain at long range for too long or you'll suffer from their projectile and grenade assaults.
