Mission 8--Limestone Cavern
With two out of three jewels in Tenrai's possession, Lord Gohda decides that his only chance of winning is to conduct a surprise attack. Gohda's men are sent across the land to find out where Tenrai is hiding. After a few days, the men gather information that Tenrai has set up a fortress on a nearby island. Any boats would be easily spotted, but a surprise attack could be conducted through a tunnel from within the limestone caverns that connects the island to the mainland. During the process of gaining this information, Gohda loses half of his army, and Sekiya, his adviser, is taken hostage by the enemy within the limestone caverns. You must go to the limestone caverns and rescue Counsel Sekiya. Princess Kiku, Lord Gohda's daughter, hands you her sister's bells for good luck.

Objectives: Watch your step, and beware of pitfalls. Look to the heavens when lost. Use items to your advantage.
You begin below an elevated track. If you played the Rikimaru Limestone Cavern mission, then you should know your current location. Turn left and grapple up to the track. Cross it and drop down behind the demon guard patrolling the left passage. If you wish, you can go up the hill to the right and return to where Rikimaru began the level (by a waterfall). It's a dead end, but there are several guards to eliminate along the way, which is especially useful if you're going for nine stealth kills.
Proceed down the left passage to move toward the objective. At the intersection, go right and follow the corridor to the incline. There's a pitfall here and a demon guard on the other side. Grapple behind the demon when he's looking away and eliminate him with a stealth kill. Eliminate the female guard around the next corner. When you reach the ledge, look down and note the guard's patrol pattern. When he moves left, drop down and terminate him with a stealth kill. A couple more guards lurk nearby; use the pillars as cover, then eliminate them with stealth kills.
Enter the cavern center and look up and to the left. Grapple to the upper path. Follow the walkway around to the right and terminate the guards in your path. Drop down into the pit (it's a short fall) and go right. Grapple over the pit and eliminate the female guard that patrols this route. Continue to the ledge (another female guard maintains a post on the left side of the ledge). Ignore or kill her, then jump right across the chasm and to the path far below. Just leap against the wall and drop straight down. It's a far drop, but you'll survive. Walk into the doorway (with the barrels) and approach the jail cell to complete your first task.
