Some people would say the thrills, spills, and technical demands of real-life snowboarding are an impressive enough spectacle. EA Sports is not one of those people. We sat down with producer Todd Batty who showed off SSX in all its fast-paced, trick-filled, stunt-toting glory, and we brought back a host of exclusive gameplay clips to prove it. Enjoy!
Oh, and did we mention he's good? Man, is he good!
SSX is coming out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and it hits slopes in the US on February 28 and Europe on March 2. Have these videos whet your appetite for the game's release?

Just 2 days away!!! Just finished playing the demo again and I can't wait for Tuesday.
Its a shame they've dropped the manicured parts of the mountain like in SSX3. I loved freeriding the back country and then passing through the base stations to choose my next event. I also loved the slopestyle feel of the tracks along side the open back country areas. Still cant wait for this though. I've been playing SSX since the original title on the PS2 about 12 years ago and have loved all the Playstation games. Lets not talk about the travesty on the Wii. Bring on March 2nd!!
SSX 3 is one of my all time favorites, I hope this one is somewhat of an open mountain also like it was. Overall looks like this is gonna destroy, day 1 purchase for me!

@jonbrons Why would you think 2012 won't be a good year for gaming? Keep that idea to yourself until AFTER E3.
I seem to remember people being worried that this game won't feature enough over the top action..... that does not seem to be an issue.
wooow! Until this point Amped 3 was my favorit. But this.... this is the GAME! I hope it will have a lot of humor like amped 3 had.
Kaori's dance is funny -- vid1 2:20. I'm glad they let you play as the set characters again. It was hard to put personality into the user-generated characters in SSX4. So far, it looks most like SSX3, which was my favorite.
@ragnar320 Not sure how thats a response to my comment unless I left a 2nd one I forgot about. But just incase ur comment was trying to lift XBOX above PS3 because of its having hulu and Netflix then just not that PS3 has Netflix, Lovefilm, BBCiPlayer, ITVPlayer and 4OD
Lol at all the little preteens saying "hes not better then ME! He only got silver!!" If you didnt notice, he wasnt trying to WIN the race, he was showcasing tricks. The people that got gold hit the finish line first. Which is why they were there waiting for him when he got to the finish line. The fugg does silver medals have anything to do with being good or not?
I'm only worried about controls. If they still keep movement and spins separated (one on analog, second on dpad), I'll be very disappointed since that's what made me stop playing one of previous SSX games.

You know they're making a ZoE HD collection, right? OT: The SSX games came out before I got big into console gaming but this looks sick! I'm definitely gonna check this out. Here's hoping for a demo.

im pretty sure anyone can be this good since it looks like falling down is harder to do than landing any trick you want.
Love SSX but this looked too forgiving as far as riding goes. It doesn't even look like it's possible to fall down.
To the people complaining about the graphics, if you're playing SSX for the graphics then your playing SSX for the wrong reason. That's like playing mirrors edge for the guns...

This game is sick! just amazing i've been waiting for a new SSX for yrs now it seems the wait was worth it
This game looks amazing!!!!... The only weird part about this post is that it says it's related to the PS3 version of the game but i couldn't help notice that all the videos are for the 360....:D
in all honestly this game looks sick! i remember having so much fun with ssx tricky and ssx3, but this... this looks amazing! if i decide to buy any sport game this year, it will definitely be this one.
@skindizer I would love a realistic sim too. I live 15 minutes from 3 resorts so I am constantly out, however, I need something to get me through that god awful snowless hell of a season people call "summer." but this is a cool game, the reason we play games is to do things we cant(or shouldn't) do in real life. If I could have this AND a realistic one, I'd be in heaven....
@skindizer Demeans? Perhaps you should actually just go snowboarding if you want an authentic experience. I'm all for realism in videogames, until it comes to activities you could easily do in reality, and probably have more fun with. This is a game about a kind of snowboarding a little to crazy to exist, and I like it that way. Besides, it's not like extreme sports are particularly prestigious or anything...
That guy isn't even good! He got 2nd, oh my lord. I got first place on every single event on every SSX game.
These videos make me NOT want to play this game. He did the same 3 tricks over and over again.
I'm pretty sure I was way better than that in SSX tricky...........such an amazing game. Anyone else remember being able to grind the whole time on that Tokyo map?

Why the hell are you guys ripping off this because of its graphics. The graphics are well done in my opinion. But really what this game is about is the gameplay. It looks super fun and I think it is going to be a blast when it comes out!
i gotta take the good with the bad. it's awesome to see them acknowledge that the Tricky chapter was the best in the series, but the characters seem to be visually stripped of their variety. That plain looking guy in the green parka is not the Psymon i know
@skindizer its a video game! if you want real snowboarding...why dont you head to the hill and do it yourself...?
