I just got my copy of Halo 3. I am not joking, I obtained it early through a store whichI will not name. I will update you on what I think of the game soon.

Update: I just finished the first level.I will not spoil anything for you but so far the game is what you would expect from a Halo game. The first thing you will probably notice when you play it is the grahpics, they won't blow you away but they are good and they are detailed. The first mission startsyou off in a jungle type environment. You fight along side the Arbiter and a bunch of marines. Its quite fun so far and I will update more.

Update: I have just played a few more missions. The game has a lot of action in it, there arn't many times where you will be doing nothing, whcih is good. The AI is also very good. Marines drive the vehicles for you like in Halo 2 and will even hop into other vehicles like Brute Choppers if there is no more room in other vehicles. You have a few more marines by your side compared to Halo 2. At most times there will be about 4-7 marines with you. All the weapons from Halo 1 and 2 are in the game with a few additions and modifications to them. Firstly the Assault Riffle is more like a sub machine gun now and brute shots are like small rocket launchers. The missiles wont start to decline for a while unlike Halo 2.

Update: I have just play the best part of the game so far. I won't spoil to much, but one exciting part was when there are about 4 groups of marines all riding mongooses. With one driving and one on the back with a rocket launcher. You set out to destroy some raithsin a group. The mongooses drive very well and they are extreamly fun, they are also very fast.

Update: I haven't finished the game yet but so far it is very good. There are some cool new vehicles and aircraft in the game but I'll let you see them for yourself. I expect it to probably get about a 9-9.5 on GS.

As a game retailer I would very much like to know who broke the street date. Understand that just by posting this topic there is a very good chance that Microsoft will investigate. The number of emails we have received stating the sort of action MS are willing to take on those who break this street date is enough to make any retailer cower. Might I suggest you offer up the name of the store in question before MS take an interest in you instead.

Then they will have to take interest in me because I am not naming the store.

    How did you get it?

Also, show us the box and disc with a bit of paper with your Gamespot name next to it.

This will be interesting I'm not doubting that you have a copy, but after what Hyper said, i'm curious to see what the situation is.

Space sims are back with a vengeance. Make a pledge! ^^

Answer me this if you can. Is Halo 3 just like Halo 2 with prettier graphics, an ending and more?

I am only on the 3rd level at the moment. It is like Halo 2 with better graphics and gameplay. I will not say the ending even when I get to it.

Sweet, the photo is up. The LE box sure looks cool though. From what you have played so far, is the gameplay a bit different or the same as Halo 2's??

    Thanks.

My manager was telling me that a GAME store in Sydney broke the street date, both the sales assitant and the manager got fired. They went to just do the game through a layby or a preorder (not sure which, that info was a bit scarce) but did it wrong and it went through as a sale. Idiot.

Anyway, my manager is pretty easy going with fully paying off a preorder for a game before the release date if we get the game in early, and letting us take it home. But not for Halo 3 (not that I want it anyway) there was an emial direct from head office and MS themselves. Not sure if you got that MS email Hyper, I would imagine you did.

Had Halo 3 in since a few days ago now.

    I like the cover art.
I just hope MS don't take decades to port it to PC like with Halo2 >__>

I know most EB store have received there stock already and are holding them out the back. Yes the emails have been strongly worded. This is not a small time distributor we are dealing with, this is Microsoft and if they really want to go out of their way to put a head on a spike they can. You certainly wont catch me selling any copies early, being sued really doesn't sit well with me.

I'm sure all stores will have stock by now. (Btw, I'm not with EB anymore, GAME now.)

It is very similar to Halo 2 except the environments are open a bit more and of course the graphical upgrade.

Yeah even I'm with you on this one. Thats going too far. You are not allowed to do that, period. As Sony put it, the like to "control the excitement and deployment of gaming", remember lik-sang anyone? Sony got angry they were selling PSP's to other countries. I'm surprised they were angry at people actually selling them, but oh well. I think lucas_kelly could be in trouble. Microsoft could just find his IP couldn't they?
