When did you start gaming and what was the first game you played?

On Christmas 1991 Santa gifted my family with a Super Nintendo and a copy of Super Mario World. In retrospect I wish it had never happened! ...what my life would have been without it. My brothers, and my cousins...my family, my friends...they're all such sporty, worky, cheery people. I'm a lazy little nothing-doer! But Super Mario World was an awesome game. I wet my pants while I was playing it once.

What's your favourite game of all time?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time! Oh my God...the moment when I walked down early Christmas day...the sun had not even come up yet...and I saw that golden box on top of some clothes...oh Christ, that was incredible. And when I played it for the first time it was so euphoric...it was insane, it was so amazing! The moment when you enter Hyrule Field...the moment when you become an adult! Are children so desensitized by the...I don't know...abundance of technology these days? Do they still undergo, with videogames, moments like those I experienced with this game? It was a godsend! So original, epic, and lasting. The best videogame experience I've ever had. It will never be matched.

    What's your favourite console?

Tough question! I think..."statistically" (for lack of any better word for the kind of thing I'm trying to describe) that the Xbox 360 is my favourite console. I don't know...it clearly has more games than the Gamecube and N64, and a fantastic range between most genres...I've had a blast with it. If it came down to personal experience, then it's a toss-up between the N64 and Gamecube (though the PS2 is quite awesome too). N64 provided the Zelda experience of a lifetime, and the Banjo-Kazooie games (and Super Mario 64!), but on the other hand the Gamecube had Eternal Darkness, two great Zelda's of its own, Starfox Adventures (I swear to God that is the best Starfox...seriously, it was fantastic, I don't care what anyone says!)...but then, the PS2 introduced me to Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Final Fantasy! I simply can't choose...uh...gaming is an adventure, and...as you...no. Gaming is like a train, and you switch from one station to another, and, y'know...there are several platforms...no. Look. I...can't choose! Moving on...

If you could be any character in a game, who would you be?

CARL "CJ" JOHNSON GROVE STREET 4 LIFE!!!!!!!!
Not really. I don't have a choice for this one.

Do you prefer to play Singleplayer mode over the Multiplayer mode, or vice versa?

Vice Versa reversa! Multiplayer is a blast, but seriously, the heart of a game is in its singleplayer. Multiplayer is simply a matter of gameplay and competition, and competition in games is fun but leaves you with nothing but statistics and gloating rights. The former is so meaningless...statistics, really...do the people who top the ladder in Call of Duty 4, who have put hundreds of days into their profile...I mean, they can't possibly think we're thinking anything other than "GET A LIFE", can they? Meanwhile singleplayer provides those utopian experiences...

What do you enjoy about gaming the most?

Atmosphere. And when occasionally a game pulls off some stroke of brilliance. I'm also pulled in by good storylines.

Have you ever listened to a game soundtrack outside of a game? If so, what game?

If I hear something that I really like then I'll look it up on Youtube. I've never bought a soundtrack though. I've listened to a bit of Zelda, some Final Fantasy, Donkey Kong...some other things. I remember being obsessed for a while with the 'Bathhouse' piece in God of War II.

When and why did you originally start using Gamespot?

Around 2004...I put my trust in Gamespot and another website when it came to reviews. It seemed reliable. I joined the forums in late 2005, and hung out in System Wars until 2007...now I only post in Gamespot AU. There are some really great people here to talk to, and plenty of kooky weirdos (the Deidre thing was one of the funniest things I've ever seen...it was so unexpected! No disrespect...). Also, UNBAN AGENT.

What other activities do you like to get up to outside gaming?

Piano - okay, keyboard. I've become quite good at it. Also reading - I'm currently reading Crime and Punishment (you kooky weirdos would love this book!) - university, work, hanging out with friends...hey, this year I'm 21 so it's the year of 21st parties which is awesome! There are so many of them...I was pretty taken aback by all the invitations...even from people I hardly speak to anymore! Is this some phenomenon known around the world? I never really thought about it until they started rolling in...I also like drinking.

List 3 awesome skills you have?

I'm a quick runner...I have no awesome skills, really.

    DJ SKILLZ

I honestly don't know who he is. I just thought it'd be good to hear from a non-regular for once.

    Good stuff, mr dave.

I wonder if CorruptAndrew will ever appear again. He was one of the first to comment on mine, but I think that was the only time I've ever seen him on here. So we might have to wait quite a while before the next profile...

Nah, I think it's way cooler this way. It's a race against time for CorruptAndrew. Will he make it?

He has exactly two days after this post to respond or I'll pick someone else!
