Real Japanese city. Kamurocho in the game is actually based on the real Kabukicho red light district in Tokyo, street for street a lot of it is exactly how the location is in real life.

Now that I've actually tried out a real 3D Blu-ray I can say without a doubt 3D is totally worth it. I was going to buy Resident Evil Afterlife too but it was like $40, and they have it on Amazon for like $24 so I'm just gonna order it off there. really can't wait to try out some more 3D Blu-ray. Just wish they weren't so damn expensive
