    FAQ

What exactly do you mean by "Not Safe for Work?" or "Work-friendly?"
Not safe for work means content generally inappropriate for the typical workplace. Content that would not be acceptable in the presence of your boss or colleagues at a corporation or organization. No pornography or other related adult material is acceptable.

So let me get this straight? I can troll and flaming in this forum?
As long as the content does not violate the Terms of Use. Just be warned, this isn't an open ticket to troll or flame a particular person to the moon and back because you hold a grudge. This could be considered harrassment and will be dealt with accordingly.

    Terms of Use wrote:
Continual harassing behavior directed towards a certain individual or group by another individual or group with the intent of creating an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment on the Service, with or without use of explicit or implicit threats, is strictly prohibited.

Does this mean I can no longer report people for calling me a troll in this forum?
Correct. Think of it as others simply "calling it like they see it", if you act like a troll be prepared to be called a troll.

Can I call people gay or retarded.
Not acceptable. According to the Terms of Use:

    Terms of Use wrote:
Users may not transmit or encourage others to transmit material or links to material considered patently offensive in nature. This includes but is not limited to using race, religion, sexual orientation, culture, ethnicity, disability, nationality, or gender as a means of insult

What happens if I post in an extremely abusive discussion?
By posting in a discussion created by another user to account suicide (such as pornography, illegal activities or virus links) you are re-surfacing the content. Anyone who posts in such discussions should expect to have your permissions revoked.

I'm noticing people censor bypass like crazy. What's going on?
While the automatic censor will still work as intended, people will no longer get moderated for censor bypassing. However, we haven't thrown the rule totally out of the window. We all know that there are certain words as well as contexts that not be condoned on the site, racial slurs being one of them.

Somebody called me a dip-sht; I demand to have this person moderated.
You can tell him why you are not a dipsht but you might just be feeding a troll at that point. Either way we aren't going to intervene.

Can I bump an old thread?
This rule has always been relaxed here, with threads under 6 months old being allowed to remain open for continued discussion. It is preferred that if you find a thread older than this, you start a new topic for discussion.

    What about sex talk?
Discussing sexual related content means that you have taken the responsibility of keeping the conversation from turning into something inappropriate. Want to talk about how sexy that gamer chick (you know... THAT one) gets you super hot under the collar? Have at it! Just be ready for the comments that follow. That is the risk you take. Posting content of very descriptive or visual content will get you moderated.

Too Hot to Post - Got the hots for a user?
Did a user in the latest "What do you look like" thread make you want to make love to your computer? Great. We do not want to hear about it. EVER! Do not post about your sexual desires or actions towards another user on the forum. Keep these intimate details private.

Hot Chick/Sexy Studs Threads are A-OK!
That's right. You want to talk about which actor/actress is hotter in Australia? Feel free to discuss it, just do not get carried away when you are talking about how into them you are.

What! Religious discussions no longer a big deal?
You are welcome to talk about your opinions in regards to various faiths or lack thereof. But harassing another person will not be tolerated.

    What about political discussions?
As long as they remain just that (a discussion) it is fine, but it is important to remember the same method for religious topics may also be may be applied to political discussions.

Can I talk about mod chips, emulators or roms?
Posts that violate or incite others to violate copyright law remain forbidden. This includes, but is not limited to asking for or providing illegal copies of copyrighted software (i.e. roms), methods of circumventing copyright protection (i.e. mod chips), or illegal copies of all types of media. What does this mean for discussion of emulators? You can talk about who has been emulated, why people emulate and what people emulate, but you can't talk about how to emulate, where to acquire emulators or encourage others to emulate.

I am seriously depressed and I am thinking about hurting myself.
Yikes! If you are thinking about committing suicide, hurting yourself, or you are seriously depressed don't create a discussion in the forums. We instead urge you to please, seek professional help! Call Lifeline Australia (13 11 14) anytime, for support.

A user is harassing me, is there anything I can do?
Harassment in the Terms of Use is defined as:

    Terms of Use wrote:
Continual harassing behavior directed towards a certain individual or group by another individual or group with the intent of creating an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment on the Service, with or without use of explicit or implicit threats, is strictly prohibited. Posting contact or other private information of any person (Service user or not) is also prohibited.

If you believe you are in risk of being physically harmed or personally effected by actions such as hacking, tampering of personal information, etc. contact customer support immediately.

You'd be surprised by the number of times moderators have to handle these types of posts on the site. Thankfully, it's pretty rare in this forum.

The censor will still pick up if you type the full swear out, but if you attempt to bypass it (even with a single letter) you won't be moderated unless you are being offensive with the content.

I'm not sure what this rage face thing is, but if it's the ugly fellow who says the "FUUUU" in it, that used to be moderated for censor bypassing. Unless the image is offensive, I can't see any reason why it can't be used now (except that it's damn ugly and I'd prefer not to see it).

Personally, I'd prefer not to see a stack of memes on this board. It's bad enough on other sites.

When my moderation history is completely gone, I'll be happy.

If there's new rules, everybody should get a clean slate.

Great, one of the things I liked about this site was the restrictions on trolling/flaming... except the amusing trolls like illmatic who do it for gits and shiggles of course.

I came here because I was sick of all the rubbish trolling on other sites. I really hope that doesn't happen here. Problem with a troll is, even if the community shout them down, they just go harder

He tried trolling me for a little bit but, with my post count, it's an arduous task and I'm not sure he was up to the task.

I think I now spout more verbal diahorrhea than you! In fact, I'm sure I do. Your sceptre and crown please sir. There is a new King of Spamming.
