A few of my favs would be:

    Big Bang Beat

    Breakers Revenge

    Hokuto Musou

Although some may not consider them rare or unknown they certainty are not mainstream and not many people know of them. So what are some of your favourites?

I must sayLost Sagait does not play like a lot of fighters but it is awesome. Also being an MMO that is free is great, of course you can pay to unlock new heros and other stuff but the game being free is still really great and if you are really good, then you just unlock free stuff and all. Great Game !

Tobal 2 for PS1. The fighting engine was defnintley ahead of its time.

I'd kill for Tobal 3 on a current gen console.

The Power Instinct series, up to Groove on Fight: simply genious, ahead of its time and still quite competitive. With Noise Factory on board, it became a tad less good - Matrimelee was way to similar to Rage of The Dragons.

I love the Power Instinct series very underrated IMO, love ROTD too but never sat down with it long enough to truly appreciate it.

Well, for me that would be imports for my PS2:

    Saint Seiya: The Hades

    Melty Blood Actress Again

    Hokuto No Ken

King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match

    Maximum Impact Regulation A

    Fate/Unlimited Codes

    Darkstalkers Collection

    Akatsuki Blitzkampf
    Breaker's Revenge
    Karnov's Revenge
Jackie Chan in Fists of Fire
Chaos Breaker's pretty good, too. I'm not sure I "love" it, but it -is- pretty much unknown.

Evil Zone for PS1 was fun. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was also great. There is a new Jojo's Bizarre Adventure game coming soon. I've seen the trailer for it and am crossing my fingers hoping it comes state side.
