this is the game that could've turned the rpg genre on its head if activistion didn't rush it out the door. I've never played a game quite like it..the mood and enviorment you played in felt very unique.

modern day L.A setting...vastly different character classes that completely alter your game experience, fun actiony combat (or stealthy if you prefer it), dialogue options. good writing, memorable characters, great soundtrack..gritty, cynical, dark humoured, mean-spirited..

but it all started to fall apart around the time you had to go up against the werewolf. it felt very rushed beyond that point and the game was full of bugs. the final boss was lame too. but I'd say 3/4 of the game are some of the best gaming you'll ever play

this game is probably the biggest 'what could have been' I think there ever was in gaming

Love the game, despite all its flaws and bugs. I even bought a 2nd copy on steam, just so i'd have it on steam

They aren't too bad, and there are various graphics mods floating around. The game is definately worth it.

I Don't think it would've been a game changer, but i loved it nonetheless.

And i also agree that it, slowly but surely, starts to fall apart.

The last sections are almost all combat(by far it's weakest aspect imo).

yes. Its a flawed masterpiece, but great nonetheless. I picked up for a few dollars on last steam sale, so i'd have a digital backup. Probably worth installing at least a few mods though!

last time i looked on the steam forum there was a decent list, can't remember off top of my head but Zimpanx recommended the ENB series earlier. When I last played it there was an unofficial patch which fixed a bunch of issues too.

Funny you mentioned this game, going through another play through heavily modded of course haha. I couldn't even imagine playing this without the Community Patch which is up to 7.9 and I don't know how Wesp is still finding partially to full complete code for additional quests, items and textures. This guys is pretty damn good.

This is one game I am seriously excited to play when I get the rig together. Come on Ivy Bridge.

    PC, Apple

Xbox, Xbox360 (Nextbox if it doesn't have an absurd online pricing model)

PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, Vita, (PS4 as soon as it launches)

Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear

NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, DS Lite, 3DS, (Wii U once some games I want hit)

    Pong, Intellivision, and Atari 2600

Better combat could have made the game so much better. As it is it's still pretty damn good with the unofficial patch.

Are you serious? They're not bad at all, do you not play games that are 8 years or older or something? And just so you know, it was basically the best looking rpg when it came out.

The combat is pretty bad and the last fourth of the game or so is crap. If they had fixed that, yeah it could've been one of the greatest.
