Been looking/hoping for some fresh RTS games that may be coming out in the future or have recently come out. Are there any? Or is the RTS genre dying?

Shogun 2 : Fall of the Samurai is a must play if you don't have it

King Arthur 2 came out recently

Naval war : Arctic Circle was released recently (I've not played it, it got a mediocre 6 from GS)

Starcraft 2, Heart of the Swarm and Carrier Command : Gaea Missions will be out later this year as well.

There are a couple of 4x RTS games coming out soon as well

The genre is far from dead, personally I'm looking forward to SC2 and Carrier Command

Company of Heroes 2 isn't an RTS.
RTS stands for Real Time Strategy.
It's an RTT, Real Time Tactical.

Strategy is used to win a war.
Tactics are used to win a battle.

Nothing new that's out yet. In addition to the already mentioned, I've heard rumors Dawn of War 3 is in the works. It probably won't come out until after CoH 2, as Relic will have their hands full with that one for a while.

That doesn't apply directly to the video game genre. If your point is to be taken seriously then StarCraft is not an RTS as the gameplay consists of a big battle with multiple engagments, not the war itself (you can even apply the same reasoning to Dune). If your problem is resource collection then you misunderstand Company of Heroes, resource collection is passive and is based on territory control which is usually understood as a part of the genre.

However this debate is still unsolved and I invite you to read this:http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=17098

    On topic:

Company of Heroes 2 and Rome 2: Total War are big titles that might come next year. I am unaware of other titles of this size in the recent future, however GarGx does point to some interesting games.

Thanks for the link, an interesting article.

SO for it to be a true RTS games should include Politics and other non-direct conflict.
I like the sound of that (if done well), it would a whole new level of depth to the genre if it split into:
"Political Real Time Stratergy" and "Tatical Real Time Stratergy"

Tryst - new RTS is coming out on Steam soon (http://store.steampowered.com/app/208460/. Tryst is a competitive Real Time Strategy Game that aims to provide a unique spin to the established strategy model that combines player choice with unit customization.

Tryst is trying to appeal to both casual and core RTS gamers. It's not gonna innovate much on Graphics or UI; but the design and game play is really solid and fun.
