M$ should make one of these. Unfortunately they might not have enough characters to fill a roster: Master Chef, Forza Car, and Fable guy?

It's not like this game is stacked either. Fat Princess, guy from Killzone, parappa? Ok let's see. MS could do Fable Guy guy from Shadow Complex, Crackdown guy, Lost Odyssey guy

M$ has really built themselves a nice list of memorable characters there. They could also do guy from Brute force, animal from blinx, and guy from Blue Dragon.

Also this game was just announced yesterday...character list isn't close to being completed.

The only way this game could possibly get me excited is if there are a bunch of SEGA characters, because Sony's guys are either unknown to me or blow chunks. What made Smash Bros. so appealing in the first place was the chance to play as all the awesome and likable Nintendo characters. Playing in a Sly Cooper stage with Kratos is lame as hell to me.

Come on if every fighting game was judged on how popular or memorable the character is then we would never move past Street Fighter. And the point of this game is not just to deliver popular characters but the niche ones too and expose them to the audience, could bode well for the future of said characters. I mean where would Kid Icarus uprising be without his appearance in Smash Bros? Doubt it would ever exist.

Also I disagree, seeing Sly fight on a Kratos battle stage is awesome! And I say that as a hardcore SEGA fan too

I just want to say--again--something I have said many, many times before: Dispel the notion that a game starts at a 10, and gets points "docked" from it. That would be a really silly way to review a game.

Game reviews aren't mathematical logarithms. They are the result of an experience that makes an impression on the mental and emotional superhighway of the game reviewer. I don't have a spreadheet that starts with a 10 and has calculations built in, where "low frame rate" = a .25 hit to the score. It doesn't work that way, and thank God for that.

I'm wondering how many characters this game will have. I mean what did Brawl have? I feel like this needs to at least match that. Crash & Spyro would be awesome.

Not every fighter, but in a party brawl game like this, yes, I think characters matter a lot. The reason I got SSB for the N64 was because I could play as Pikachu, Mario, Link, etc. If you don't have attachment to any of the characters on the roster, it kills the luster.

Maybe to you, but to me, that is the ultimate display of dullness.
