ForumsSystem Wars › If you could go back to a game's multipl ...

System Wars is a one of a kind destination where gamers can discuss, rant, and debate about systems, platforms, handhelds and the games. Not many people survive System Wars. The mightiest system warriors back up their arguments with facts.

Rules are simple:
- Read the Terms of Use and System Wars Survival Guide.
- Must be Level 10 or higher to create topics.
- Keep your discussions around what belongs here: platforms, games, developers, publishers, and stats.
- Don't quote more than one image in your post.
- Do NOT post or bump extremely abusive discussions (adult material/illegal activities/illegal advertising/etc).

If you could go back to a game's multiplayer heyday, which game?

Socom, specifically 3. I know 2 is the fan favorite but I liked 3 better.

Lineage 2, C4/C5. Minus the grind, the best MMO experience anyone could ever find.

    Killzone 2- too small now

    Warhawk- too small now

CoD4-too small and full of hackers

Metal Gear Online- 1st online game i really got into, played it all summer long but after that i kinda lost interest, and then my ps3 broke, i had to get it fixed & i didn't wanna go through the whole konami ID bs again

super smash bros- me and my friends could play melee or brawl for hours on end, now i don't play either game more then a couple hours a year and it ,makes me sad that when the new one comes out it won't come close to brawl or melee

i could go on and on but these are probably the biggest ones

    Quickscoping hadn't been discovered.

    It was awesome.

Then the Christmas pubs came along and things went to hell.

happens to every CoD game...year in year out, its the people whol generally just play for the first month then the scrub kids come in and pretty much like a bunch of rabid locust come in and single handedly manage to abuse the game and shout, swear and act like pathetic little children for most of the part as their parents see it as the cheapest babysitting device ever.

Generally. BO didn't have anything terribly exploitable other than maybe gun balance. Ironically stll taking skill.

MW3 took 3 or 4 months for ito to become obvious that shotguns are easy and trolly to use. Same with snipers

I would go back to World of Warcraft within the first year. Some of my best gaming memories were from then BSing around with friends, world PvP, and insane dungeon runs.

Socom 2 and Motorstorm would tie for tops. With Socom 2, no one cared that PS2 had no PSN equivalent. Not with Socom 2 around. Original Motorstorm multiplayer is the best online racing I've ever played.
