Company of Heroes 2

With the recent announcement of COH2, I now have a new most anticipated game. Anyone else really excited for this great news?
For those that don't know, it'll be set on the Eastern Front. You'll play as the Russians in the campaign and snow will play a big role. They have incorporated new features such as "true sight".

Definitely looking forward to it very much.. CoH was (and still is) the best WW2 RTS I've played so far.. And playing a Russian front - yes! ;)

I'm quite fearful they're going to pull Diablo III's DRM on it. If I have to be constantly online to play SP I'm going to go postal. That DRM ruined that game for me.

The blizzard feature is interesting (during blizzards your infantry squads die off and you have to build fires or move your troops into buildings). At first it seemed more annoying than anything else and the speed at which the troops die needs to be adjusted. The ice mechanic is nice.. I took out heavy tanks on ice at lot easier than on normal land. Ice has it's own health so you can make enemy tanks sink. Weight also plays a part so heavier tanks are easier to sink. The game obviously has a lot of work needed to be done to it, barb wire wasn't included in the build I played and sand bags could only be placed one at a time (I was told this will be fixed). Overall the game plays similar to the first, one big difference was that when you build troops they come from off map now instead of out of the building. I asked how this will play out if you can capture buildings and train troops like in the original. The guy wasn't sure. I think I prefer troops to come from the building so you don't have to wait for them to be built and now you have to wait from them to come from off map. It is more realistic, since they are reinforcements, but maybe they could be brought in using a half track or something so infantry would arrive sooner. The game plays great, looks amazing and there are a few changes people will hate but will grow used too. I only played through a campaign level and a skirmish map.. hoping when they go into beta I get into it so I get more hands on with the game. If you like WW2 and RTS be sure to keep an eye on the game.
