Reported on Famitsu* (if you can read it. See bottom note for details) was a talk session with Hideo Kojima and others showing the Zone of the Enders 3 a.k.a Ender's Project as well as the Zone of the Enders HD collection.

About the HD collection (Quoted from Famitsu and translated by google Chrome):

"October 25, 2012, the price is usually the other version has been announced 3,980 yen each, and also announced a Limited Edition Release Date variety. In addition, also determines the release of figures from Kaiyodo and Kotobukiya in June as related products., "As the biggest surprise andZOEthat the project "Enders Project" sequel "was started was announced."

-3980 yen is about $50 dollars over here in the U.S. I'll update the thread with information about that as I learn more about it.

The following images and concept art are from the event (Courtesy of Famitsu and Official Xbox Magazine.com):

Apparently, they are using real models and using them for 3d modeling within Hideo Kojima's new FOX Engine.Currently, there is no official release date for ZoE 3. However, according to reports, the ZoE HD collection will be released October 25th, 2012. More about ZoE 3, rumor has it that the sequel will actually take place in the past. Perhaps there will be some in-game relation to ancient Egyptian mythology since that's where the names of the Orbital Frames such as "Jehuty" and "Anubis" come from. If any user is interested, you can look into that at your leisure on the web. At this time, I do not intend to post any links for that in this thread. However, I may do a blog on the subject in the future. As more news comes, I will be sure to update everyone about it, granted this thread lasts that long.

Pumped for the collection and ZoE 3!

ZoE 1 is fairly boring, but ZoE 2 is a classic.

One of my favorite franchises ever, I really hope Zone of the Enders 3 debuts this year, even a trailer would suffice. If it looks half as awesome as Metal Gear Rising I'm buying it day one!

Here's hoping that rumored ZoE 3DS game is confirmed at E3!

Awesome. I enjoyed the first game despite it's shortcomings but never got around to try the second and heard that it was much better so I'm happy to finally get the chance to play it now.

    This is awesome and all.

But they should've waited untill the release of ZOE3 for an HD collection.

You know, like they did with GoW.

Mine too. I really like the fast paced melee combat as well as the ranged weaponry and other tech. The subweapons made things interesting. I would like a small online portion with the HD remake: Versus mode. It would not be balanced with Anubis or Jehuty at full power. Still, I would play it.

Let's hope it has some depth to it. WHen you go back and play ZOE 1 or 2 you realise how very shallow and easy the combat is. But still at least people know now that it's in the works without speculating

    That's the beauty of it.

Yeah back then. Nowadays it won't hold up very well and will be criticised for it. People like the games for nostalgia sake at this point, if it was the exact same people would go "Why did I like these games again" and breeze through the whole thing. Gamers don't want easy.

But I'm sure it will be improved over the originals. Looking forward to seeing it and the new engine in action

Just cos that's what they're getting doesn't mean it's what they want. Although things do seem to be getting a LOT more casual these days.

It's just okay. The 2nd Runner is a much better game. You can teach the onboard AI to automatically switch to weapons strong against particular enemies. Overall, I think it's a good game. I like the story, graphics, and gameplay. Though, the music good could have been better.

People speak with their wallets. If you want commands to be more complicated, perhaps you should play another mech game. The fast combat in the ZoE games is built upon simplicity, for better or worse. I like it quite a bit.
