    If you want to play some co op I would go with RE 4/5, and if your only looking for sp then I would go with RE 4/Dead Space 1 like other people have said.

    "Dead Space 1 & 2", easily. I'm a HUGE Resident Evil fan, and i would STILL choose those games over RE4 & RE5. I liked them both, but the DS games were far-superior in every sense.

    In order most to least awesome, the list goes Resident Evil 4 > Dead Space > Dead Space 2 > Resident Evil 5

    but they are all great games imo... personally I would go for Dead Space 1 and 2 if you are rigid in wanting the entire franchise, but if not, go for DS1 and RE4

    RE4 is really poorly localized on the HD consoles, just FYI.

    I like all 4 of these games, but I would go with Dead Space 1 out of all of them

    dead space; resident evil 4 was good and resident evil 5 was ok, but if ur looking for a horror game that actually atleast attemps to be scary and the character doesnt control like an old rusted tank get dead space.

    i could list reasons why RE4 may be a better play then DS, but seeing as ur asking other people via a forum i can assume if ur not willing to look up enuff info to make up ur own decision then ur prolly not gonna be be willing to endure RE4's dated visuals and mechanics (granted, not that dated, but still dated). not everyone likes to play the good games of yesterday

    The Dead Space series is superior as of now...which is a pretty big disappointment for me because I was such a big RE fan.

    To me, the Dead Space franchise is the best experience this generation.
