Since I have such a low post count, as usual, I'am treated like trash in every forum I post in. I can only assume I'll be perm banned soon.

What I don't expect, is that every single website including this one, I'am not only treated like trash from the users, I'am treated like trash from the mods, completely ignored, and then I get punished when I break ZERO rules.

    http://www.gamespot.com/forums/topic/29208839/age-of-empires-ii-for-mac

Can I troll in this board?
It depends. If you create a type of anti-PC games discussion intended to grief PC or Mac gamers, you can expect it to be moderated for invading this forum. If you hate a PC game and you want to troll someone for enjoying it, go for it.

So wait, I made a serious thread, asking a serious question, I reported every one of those posts, and yet nothing. No moderation what so ever.

Even though, that is quite obviously against the rules. Did you guys find out the colour of my skin or something, and thats why I'm treated like this? The only time in my personal life I'am treated this way, is by racists.

But you know what? Thats fine, I got over it, I see how it works now. You are allowed to troll as much as you please, as long as its not extreme.

Well you know what? I'm better than trolling, so I'll just crack some jokes, maybe, make a couple people laugh, make some friends.

    "

    You are doing something wrong.

Sorry this is the PC forum, we are all to incompetent, and pompous to actually answer real questions. We much prefer to troll around, posting memes like morons who have never seen genitals of the opposite sex in our entire lives.

Seriously though, if you want your question answered, don't post in the PC forum, its just filled with trolls. Try 360 or PS3 forum. OR the official skyrim forum."

Thats what I posted. Frankly, you'd have to be an incompetent moron not to see that as a joke, infact, it was the only joke I've seen on this website since I started posting here. Wait what, it gets deleted? Are you guys kidding me?

    So because I make a clever joke, that actually made people laugh, it gets deleted. But posts like;

    "Skyrim? Hard?

    *snort*"

    (Thats trolling)

"lol at the level 7 idiot."

    (Thats trolling)

And every single response to what I said was trolling, yet their posts remain untouched?

Don't come in here and respond with "Well that joke of yours was trolling, thats why it was deleted" if thats why its deleted, then you'll have to explain why you intentionally chose to ignore the other far more obvious troll posts.

You say not to be rude, and so you'll have to understand I mean this with no offense. But I don't understand why I have to explain to the mods, how to do their job.

Go ahead, and get mad about that comment. But you are simply not doing your job. I come in here to get one simple question answered, I checked the rules to make sure I wouldn't get trolled. And then the entire thread is filled with people breaking the rules, and trolling me.

So then, its based on post count right? The rules only apply to certain people based on their post count. I mean, you guys can't ban someone whos been on the site for a long time right? You wouldn't want to lose popularity?

So tell me then, how can I get into this upper class of gamesspot.com? Should I write 100+ reviews, and then my jokes won't be seen as trolling? Should I get my post count over 1000, then will mods actually do something about me getting trolled? Is my level too low? Do I unlock "Mods ignore you" at level 10 or something?

Why on earth do rules only effect me negatively, and effect the rest of the community positively? What am I doing wrong?

    Not one mod replies?

Even though the two threads which already had responses, were replied to?

Did I just trip and fall into the internet version of the twilight zone?

    Well hello there,
So lets take a quick look at your request shall we?

I'm going to start off with a fact that isn't always exactly obvious to newer users, our moderators are volunteers. This means that they are not constantly around to police every corner of that site. So when you see or experience abuse you need to report it and according to my records, there were no reports of abuse using your account.

So why were your posts moderated while their posts were left untouched?Simple, another user took the time to request a moderation on your account, that's how it ended up on their radar. Further more according to my records, of the items that have been flagged you were only actually given a warning for one of them.

Why are people being so rude? A mystery of the internet I'm afraid, but since according to your posting history you seem to enjoy posting in a less than flattering text. This coupled with a low post count, and a default avatar can often lead to users not taking a poster seriously.

Also, there are different rules for different boards. As I'm sure you've noticed posting in the PC and Mac games board is much different than in say System Wars or Off Topic.

I won't belittle you by explaining the whole "treat others the way you want to be treated" adage but I will point out that when you're a "new guy" starting off the bat with comments that might ruffle feathers of the community isn't exactly putting your best eFoot forward.

    When you say something like

you may think you're just joking, but since you don't really have any standingin the community it honestly just makes you come off as someone wanting to disrupt the experience of the board. If someone looks at your profile currently, your following one game, you have no blogs, and nothing in the "about me" section of your profile. So there's no way for someone to tell that you're "joking".

Need an example? If I said something about how I thought the x360 was lame the community knows me enough that many would be able to tell that I was kidding, since I've reviewed several X60 titles, written guides on how to best utilize the console in question, and have my XBL gamertag on my fuse profile.

I would like to again point out that you were only given a warning, you weren't banned or suspended for your posts which means that despite the actions taken against you, the moderators have still decided to give you the chance to continue posting since you seem to be making a genuine effort.

If you have any additional questions you're welcome to send me a PM. Otherwise if you don't respond to my post in the next 24 hours I'll assume that the matter has been resolved to your satisfaction.

    Well, I'm shocked.

I've been perm banned from a ridiculous amount of forums. For the same reason really. I make a joke, someone takes it too seriously tries to troll me, I troll them back and I get banned.

Normally the mods hate me just as much if not more than the community does. Which is one of the reasons why I'am so shocked.

You actually explained to me in detail why, which blows my mind. On top of that, you were actually respectful? My goodness.
That all actually makes sense, I feel stupid for not seeing it like that. Though, I don't expect you to explain, but I do wonder why people care so much about profiles when it comes to the poster. I never cared for making my profile fancy on any site, which could be why I get perm-banned so much.

"you seem to enjoy posting in a less than flattering text."

Yea, I'm a douche bag, thats what everyone tells me.

Anyways, thank you very much. This is probably the first time I've ever been treated kindly by a mod... ever. So I appreciate it, big time.
You were helpful, kind, and respectful. None of which describes any mod on any site I've posted on before, so again thank you very much for taking the time out.

But you have to admit, my joke was pretty funny.
