PC maker Falcon Northwest intends to change the perception of how big a powerful PC needs to be with their new Tiki "micro-tower". At only 4" wide and 13" tall, Tiki is roughly the size of an original XBOX game console. Inside Tiki packs the fastest NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards, the fastest Intel 3rd Generation Core-i7 "Ivy Bridge" quad-core CPUs, 16 gigabytes of memory, and up to four terabytes of storage. It's even got a liquid cooling system.

"Tiki is a showcase of how far the PC industry has come in just the past year," said Kelt Reeves, president of Falcon Northwest. "CPUs and graphics cards have taken massive leaps in performance and power efficiency. Tiny solid-state storage has become affordable, and the miniaturization of motherboards all mean that your average tower PC is now much bigger than it really needs to be. With Tiki, we solved the heat and noise challenges involved in getting rid of all that excess space."

Making a desktop PC this thin presented a new design challenge: it's fairly easy to knock over with a stray elbow or by a pet. So Falcon custom cut Tiki's base out of solid granite. Tiki is the first PC ever to ship with 6 pounds of natural stone as standard equipment. The polished granite base gives Tiki both stability and a uniquely high-end style.

"Tiki is just freaking awesome!" said Ujesh Desai, Vice President of Product Marketing at NVIDIA, "It's great working with partners like Falcon that can take our new Kepler-based GeForce cards and show them off in such an elegant way. I can't wait to get a Tiki on my desk!"

Available today, Tikis will be custom built to order and begin shipping in early July. Pricing starts at under $1,900 for basic configurations and ranges to almost $5,000 for custom painted, fully-loaded builds.

I always did like the designs of Falcon Northwest systems. Not so fond of the prices but they do seem to put a lot of craftsmanship into their systems.

    Asus P5E3 Deluxe X38 | Intel QX9770 @ 4.00GHz | 4GB DDR3 1600 | HD 7870 @ 1.2GHz

The granite looks stupid, but other than that it looks cool, albeit a rip off.

No, like I stated before, the memory limitations alone on consoles can't hold enough textures to be able to replicate Crysis 1.

The above information is absolutely, 100% true. Unless you prove it to be false, and then in that case, I really don't care.

We have a number of wrought iron furniture which use slabs of marble which are heavy as hell. How much does that Falcon Northwest PC weigh?

This Tiki thing actually starts at $1,800. But that's not the point. Point is, he was commenting on it being a rip off, when he payed $1,300 for a PC that has a GTX 555.

I payed $950 for the i5 and gtx 555 one. $1800 is a little bit more than what I paid.

You still could have gotten much better for $950 (that would get you 2500K + 7850), so I don't know why you'd be complaining about something being a ripoff.

If I wanted something as small and proprietary as an xbox 360, I'd buy an xbox 360.
