I hope man. Get Lin back and Kidd mentor him. I mean cmon Nash is the worst perimeter defender that isn't going to help and Kobe isn't a good defender anymore.

To be fair there's a small hint of sanity in deuce's post there. Kidd could be a great mentor for a young turnover-prone PG like Lin.

As usual he's just overstating the significance of something the Knicks did.

Kidd is basically old and crusty now... but he's a a good fit with the NYK style of offense. I agree with the mentor aspect too. Good signing.

Lin agreed to a Rockets offer. Unless the Knicks match it. Yo mentor apprentice combo is gone.

Dirk must be feeling like he is the captain of a sinking ship right now. Everyone is bailing on the Mavs and he is left to spend his remaining years playing Rebuild Mode.

Reminds me of the 06 Heat. Went from champions to an early first round exit and back to rebuild mode. Happens when your team is mainly constructed with vets and expiring contracts.

Meh, the Mavs will always stay competitive though soley because of Mark Cuban. He knows how to build a winning roster and not afraid to spend the money.

I disagree. I think LA would of been the better choice while Nash should went to NY.

I just wonder if Kidd is motivated enough considering he finally got a ring. I that whole Mavs team wasn't interested in the 2011-2012 season.

Nash plays more of that Mike D'antoni style of offense which didn't work for the NYK and Melo. Kidd is the better fit for the style of offense NY runs.

Melo would of adjusted. Also you haven't forgetten Amere exceled in that offense. Tyson would of adjusted to it.

Exactly. It would be very different if the team was having serious financial issues and/or was up for sale. Then there would be reason to doubt the competitiveness of the Mavericks for the next few years.

I'm thinking Cuban is sortof throwing in the towel for this year so the Mavs can just reload next offseason. They'll have a lot of money and theoretically both Dwight & CP3 could be free agents.

^^ Agreed. Cuban has done a very good job always keeping the Mavs in contention. They'll figure something out I'm sure.

I can see Cuban throwing a billion dollars to lure Howard and Paul.
