    Just a quick question. If I kill the ninja guy in the Darkroot Garden will I be forced to leave the cat covenant?

    AFAIK, you have to kill Shiva's ninja buddy to get that ring. Not 100% sure if absolving sins will let you rejoin though.

    It's the only way to get the ring, and if you harm any of the covenant members (or if they fall off by themselves with you in the zone, which happens more often than you think), you will not be able to rejoin in that playthrough as the cat will vanish as soon as you approach it.

    I believe you can rejoin the covenant if you pay the Pardoner by the church bell to absolve your sins after killing the ninja. That should reset any hostility from Shiva or any other npc you've turned hostile, as long as they're still alive.
