This gen has seen FPS games of all shapes and sizes, I think the best First-person, or to be real honest with you fellow gamespotters, shooters fo all types, were made this gen.

I never really had a favorite FPS generation, but I'd be lying to say that I didn't play any good FPS in this generation.

Nope. Nintendo 64 has the best created first person shooters. Goldeneye 007 & Perfect Dark. No shooter has been able to match the quality of those games outside of graphics til this day.

I can't decide but for me, the best FPS game of the new generation is Mirror's Edge.

I guess it all depends on how old you are and how long you've been playing games.

The most memorable FPS games I ever played were the first Half-Life and then Deus Ex ... beyond that I've certainly played some good ones with newer tech, that have stuck with me, and the eye candy is certainly better now, but in terms of gameplay, "the best?" I don't know about that.

well, being a major counter strike fan, i do know a bit about fps , we have had many good games released this generation, and many bad, so it is hard to say if it is good or bad.

Oh, definitely. This gen brought me back to the genre after initially losing interest in it in the early 2000s.

There hasn't been such thing as a "good FPS" since Half Life 2 and it's episodes. The genre is dead.

The market for FPS's sure is saturated, but I think that Timesplitters, Goldeneye and Quake stop this gen being the best.

I still think Soldier of Fortune 2 - Double Helix is definitly one of the best FPS ever. The gameplay was good, it was fun, the modding was pretty easy but it had its limitations. If only there were a Soldier of Fortune 4 worthy of SoF2 as 3 was a total disaster.

or a way to make this game interesting again with some graphical imrpovements

No. There have been a few good ones like "BioShock", but they're far from top of my list, personally.
