In this weeks episode of the Ozspot the team discuss the size of Michael Fassbenders penis.
I raised this in the forum but the comment was deleted, without any notification or explanation to myself.
I personally find it inappropriate to discuss the size of anyones penis during a gaming podcast. It's simply not what I tune it for
But perhaps it's only me that feels this way.
So I'm opening up the question to the forum.
Is discussing penis size appropriate during the Ozspot?
- Jul 10, 2012 11:12 pm GMT
It definitely is a strange discussion to raise, but its good that they act human and approach conversations that people will discuss every now and then. - Jul 10, 2012 11:14 pm GMTI'm a person and it's not something that I'm going to discuss every now and then. I have no interest in the size of Michael Fassbenders member, and funnily enough I don't tune into a gaming podcast to learn more on the subject. I doubt many of the kids tuning in do either.

There is truth to what you say... But im a guy and i talk about womens breats and backsides. I don't talk about the guys accessories, but its a little normal... unless im weird.. ;) women are gods gift to us guys. - Jul 10, 2012 11:21 pm GMT
Oh. don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting that there's anything wrong or inappropriate about discussing the size of Fassbenders penis as such, I'm sure many might throughouly enjoy a vibrant conversation on the topic, but I'm suggesting that The Ozspot is an inappropriate forum for such a discussion. And unwanted. And somewhat careless given the presumably young demographic of listeners.
It's not even as if it were a passing comment. The headline even revels in the discussion.

OMG, OPPOSITE DAY IS REAL!!! :D
Seriously, though, it may not have been appropriate (or intentional), but it certainly was hilarious.
- Jul 10, 2012 11:24 pm GMTHilarious? Well, each to their own I guess. By the way hilarious is not equal to appropriate.
- I don't listen to the OzSpot but it seems an odd place to discuss it. I'm going to assume it's related to him producing and starring in the Assassins Creed movie. I'll then assume that got to talking about Shame which would lead to discussing his member. An odd place for the discussion sure, but again, having not listened to the podcast and not knowing how graphically they discussed the issue, I can't comment.

Perhaps if it were, the world would be a happier place. Either that, or society as we know it would crumble. I don't know, I'm not a scientist. What I do know is that the topic being discussed at the time was Michael Fassbender's potential role in an Assassin's Creed film, with speculation based on his body of work - and I personally feel that any information about Fass's Bender is as integral to his portrayal of an Assassin as dinosaurs are to the next CoD (even if the man does have some trouble keeping his blade "hidden").
In all seriousness, Assassin's Creed is a mature game and would no doubt be a mature film. Discussion of such subject matter in an online podcast whose track record of injecting humor into the news it brings to it's audience includes the use of mild-to-moderate profanity and innuendo is clearly intended for an adult audience. While in this instance the discussion may have been immature, and clearly not to your taste, I find it no more or less appropriate than the vast majority of the topics of discussion on The OzSpot.
Although if future podcasts were to include more discussion of fighting games in place of genital speculation, I doubt I would complain.
- Jul 11, 2012 12:10 am GMTI have no objection to the team discussing the Assasins Creed movie, or Fassbenders involvement. I think it's a pretty boring topic, and I don't see the point in just relaying moribund headlines simply for the sake of it, but I don't actually object to the topic being raised. I do however feel that the significance and merit of Fassbenders involvement has little to do with the size of his member, and I think that to direct the discussion in such terms is demeaning to Fassbender, and perhaps to other male actors. But more than that I feel that the discussion is a waste of time and given it's irrelevancy and given the lack of age based filters on the gamespot site, that it's an inappropriate discussion. I don't object to you, or anyone else finding the topic hilarious. I don't find it hilarious in the least but that's by the by. I, like you, can only hope that future discussions remain about games and not utterly irrelavant dimensions.

Really, I'd say anything goes as long as it's entertaining to listen to. I've been listening to a few podcasts, and the ones I find entertaining feature a cast that arent exactly the most intelligent or professional bunch, nor do they stay on topic, but they're certainly the most colourful in personality and they have good discursive dynamics. (Dont talk over each other, know each other well to disagree and argue etc.) I dont think I would have a problem if there was some small chat about **** size. However, if it carries on for too long to the point where it overlaps the current topic at hand (as in the discussion evolves into **** size itself without going back on track), then, that's where I'd have a problem. - Jul 11, 2012 1:35 am GMT

I guess the "one direction" is straight foward and up at a 20 degree angle.
Too far?

Aah...he has them in his "sig" right?
Wow.
Edit: Oh yeah, never listened to a "podcast", but that sounds just fine. Assassin's Creed is my second favourite series.

I don't listen to podcasts for the reason you're whinging about. Usually they stray off topic at some point, like most conversations. I can speak to people in the real world that waffle on and on, I don't feel the need to download people waffling or listening to them on the interwebs.
While it may not be appropriate, **** happens.
I'd be interested to know if they where talking about a chick gettin her **** out and commenting on that, whether you would have started a similar thread??

[/QUOTE] Yep. I agree with most of your sentiments. But having said that, spouting nonsense and hot air is one thing, talking about Fassbenders member is taking the show to a new low. Hopefully they will reduce the amount of cackling and complete nonsense and get back to providing real (not regurgitated) news and informed insight. But until then, can they at least attempt to keep the standards above that of a cess pool.
Australian Gamespotters deserve a quality podcast presented by professionals. Not this tripe.
